Chef Grace Choy Joins Man Ho Bistro for Culinary Event

Man Ho Bistro is delighted to announce an extraordinary culinary event featuring the acclaimed Hong Kong-born chef Grace Choy, who joins forces with Executive Chinese Chef Leslie Du from 31 May – 5 June 2024. This exciting residency promises a unique opportunity to experience her culinary artistry alongside the refined Cantonese cuisine of Man Ho Bistro with specially curated four-hand set menus for both lunch and dinner, alongside the addition of her signature dishes to the à la carte menu.

Originally from Hong Kong and currently based in Tokyo, Chef Grace is a culinary icon. She is the restaurateur, head chef, and co-founder of the highly acclaimed ‘ChoyChoy Kitchen’. Her culinary journey has taken her to prestigious kitchens worldwide, including JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Macau, and W Taipei. Her passion for food extends beyond the kitchen; she is the author of the acclaimed Cantonese cookbook ‘Grace’s 60 Recipes’ and has been honored with numerous awards, including the World’s Best Woman Chef Cookbook Award. She has also been featured on CNN’s list of Hong Kong’s 10 Best Private Kitchens and is an esteemed guest for the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Her accolades include the Championship of the World’s Best Female Chef Award in July 2019 and the Gourmand World Cookbook Award in 2018.

The four-hand set lunch menu showcases a vibrant tapestry of flavors, featuring Chef Grace’s signature tofu cubes with a numbing and spicy sauce alongside Chef Leslie’s refreshing cucumber salad with garlic and Arctic clams. The culinary adventure continues with a hot & sour Sichuan seafood soup by Chef Leslie, followed by a choice of Chef Grace’s melt-in-your-mouth stewed beef brisket or Chef Leslie’s culinary delights – steamed cod fish with preserved radish black beans or a vegetarian option of wok-fried homemade tofu and eggplant in chili sauce. The symphony of flavors concludes with a classic Yang Chow fried rice and Chef Grace’s tantalizing taro paste with ginkgo nuts. The set is THB 1,400++ per set.

The dinner set menu boasts equally exquisite creations, starting with Chef Grace’s cold sliced pork hock and a contrasting vegetarian option by Chef Leslie – steamed eggplant with preserved eggs and Sichuan chili sauce. Guests can then sample Chef Grace’s unique night-blooming cereus soup with dried longan and dried conch. The main course presents a delightful choice: Chef Grace’s signature poached soy sauce chicken or a selection from Chef Leslie’s impressive repertoire – kung pao shrimp with macadamia nuts in Sichuan style or honey glazed premium barbecue pork ribs with cantaloupe melon. To round off this unforgettable dining experience, Chef Leslie presents Man Ho Bistro’s signature stir-fried noodles with egg, shrimp, barbecue pork, vegetables, and chili, followed by Chef Grace’s luxurious cashew nut sweet soup with bird’s nest and edible gold leaf. The set is THB 1,550++ per set.

Beyond the four-hands set menus, Man Ho Bistro will feature a selection of Chef Grace’s signature dishes on its à la carte menu. This includes a range of enticing appetizers, nourishing soups, delectable main courses, and decadent desserts, with prices starting from THB 155++ per menu.
