COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has answered the suggestion to lockdown Bangkok

The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has answered the suggestion to lockdown Bangkok for seven days, after the number of COVID-19 infected patients has risen, replying that all measures have both positive and negative impacts.

If the lockdown measure is deployed in Bangkok, it will cause unemployment among some groups of laborers, and those people will move out to other provinces. So the best practice that is currently applied is the “bubble and seal” strategy, closing specific places that have an outbreak, such as markets and factories, to reduce the impact on the economy and society.
