The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui recently welcomed fully vaccinated international guests back to the tropical island paradise of Koh Samui when the island reopened to international travellers on 15 July 2021. International guests can once again revel in the inspiring and exciting surroundings of Koh Samui through its azure ocean, pristine beaches, meaningful cultural immersions, vibrant southern Thai culinary journeys and exceptional island lifestyle.

A recipient of the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) Plus Certificate, guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui can be assured that their wellbeing is of paramount importance. The SHA Plus Certificate validates that at least 70% of staff at the venues and businesses have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

SHA is a certificate that represents the tourism industry entrepreneurs’ readiness in improving their products, services and sanitation measure which is pivotal in preventing the spread of COVID-19 by complying with the sanitation measures, which in turn builds trust and confidence in guests and service recipients of such products and services.

The Samui Plus Model (SPM), previously known as the Samui Sealed Route, welcomes fully vaccinated international travellers without the 14-day quarantine requirement. Under the SPM, in the first seven days of arrival, international travellers must remain on Koh Samui.

During this period, days one to three will be spent in quarantine in a Samui Extra Plus hotel and days four to seven allow for travelling in districts of Koh Samui according to the specified route and travel programme. They will be able to travel freely from days eigth to 14 while staying in a SHA Plus hotel, and are able to travel around Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao provided they receive a negative test result. Travellers will be subject to COVID-19 testing three times; on the first day of arrival, either on day six or seven and either on day 12 or 13.

Consisting of in-house and outside experts in food and water safety, hygiene and infection prevention, and hotel operations, the Marriott Cleanliness Council is redefining their cleaning and safety standards.
