UTRIGGER Resorts in Thailand has unveiled three musical artists to eat, drink and dance to in Phuket, Koh Samui and Khao Lak.
Each artist excels in different musical genres. The move is part of OUTRIGGER’s commitment to provide five features at each of its resorts: an iconic beach location, a memorable bar, signature experiences that reflect local culture, care for the environment – and great music.
As part of that commitment to great music, DJ Rudi plays soul funk, disco, nu disco, Balearic and house at Nalu Bar & Grill at the OUTRIGGER Surin Beach Resort in Phuket.
Rudi says: “A good DJ should have his own style and approach and not just emulate what other DJs are playing… However, there are always great discoveries that I feel fit in perfectly with my own style. For example I’ve recently added Gypsy Woman by Montefiori Cocktail and remix rotation from Eric Kupper for Herb Alpert. For a DJ, curation is creation.”
Meanwhile, OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort is home to Thailand’s own Fabula Band, led by lead singer Opal who has an amazing ability to connect to a wide audience with her jazz interpretations of classics and popular hits.
Fabula found their musical expression during their years in Sydney (2009 to 2013) and then returned to Thailand to spread the smooth sounds of jazz in Koh Samui.
Opal finds inspiration in Dana Krall, Michael Buble, Stella Katherine Cole, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, to name a few. 
A night of harmonic refinement with Fabula beside Lamai beach starts at 6.30pm every Saturday as part of the resort’s acclaimed BBQ evenings under the stars.
At OUTRIGGER Khao Lak Beach Resort, Filipino vocalist and guitarist Rowena plays popular songs against the backdrop of a setting sun on the Andaman Sea. She describes her repertoire as “music without borders”. She plays popular hits from Asia, America and Europe, six nights a week from 5.30pm, except Thursdays.
