Thai Vietjet wins ‘Excellence in Crisis Management and Recovery 2022’ at 31st World HRD Congress in Mumbai

At the 31st World HRD Congress, Thai Vietjet Air was named the winner of ‘Excellence in Crisis Management and Recovery’ award, highlighting its outstanding performance in crisis and people management throughout the pandemic.

‘Navigating the Modern World of Work’ was the theme of the 31st World HRD Congress & Awards, and it included several noteworthy sub-themes, including the growing use of technology in the workplace, diversity & inclusion, training & rescaling, and coaching  future leaders. Almost 2000 professionals from more than 130 countries attended the award ceremony during February 15 – 17, 2023 in Mumbai, India.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said: The recognition emphasized Thai Vietjet’s capacity to adjust to the uncertainty and challenges throughout the pandemic. With over 6 million passengers and an expansion of 11 international routes in 2022, we were one of the first airlines to take the lead in recovery of international flight services after the reopening of the international borders. We’ll keep expanding to embrace the new era of aviation and global tourism.“

In 2021, the HR Excellence Awards Virtual Ceremony 2021 hosted in Singapore on October 8th 2021, Thai Vietjet also named the Gold winner of the HR Excellence Awards 2021 (Thailand) for ‘Excellence in Crisis Management and Recovery.

As the winner of Excellence in Crisis Management and Recovery, Thai Vietjet has proven its impressive accomplishment in business development and people management during the crisis of COVID-19. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in early 2020, the carrier has remained all employees and even further recruited for next step development, together with additional aircraft planning & regular staff training in place, standing ready for the industry to recover.

Thai Vietjet has proactively maintained domestic and  international network extension where possible, to stimulate travel demand amidst the pandemic. In 2022 alone, it carried more than 6 million passengers and resumed and opened new 11 international routes. It also received two new aircraft and maintained its second-place position in the domestic market for capacity share.The airline has also invested further in system development, taken many steps forward with digital transformation, introduced new products and services including various travel passes and vouchers, offered more valuable travel options to enhance passengers’ travel experiences. Last but not least, it exercises well control of costs in every area of operations and always shares hands with the community.
