AirAsia introduces new direct flight to Guwahati, the Sacred City of India’s Northeast Travelers planning for year end holidays can now choose from nine direct Thai-India routes

With the tourism market in India continuing to grow steadily, AirAsia is introducing a new route from Bangkok-Don Mueang to the Indian city of Guwahati, flying 3 times a week on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting 1 December 2023.

With the new direct flight, travelers from Thailand will now be able to experience the sacred city of India’s northeast while Indian travelers will have access to an extensive network across Thailand in time for the end of year holiday season.

Ms. Tansita Akrarittipirom, Head of Commercial AirAsia Thailand, said that “Don Mueang-Guwahati is a completely new route for the carrier that came with exciting challenges. The addition marks the ninth Thai-Indian connection for Thai AirAsia after Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Bangalore, Gaya, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, affirming the growth of the India market and its potential for even more routes for AirAsia.”
