AirAsia Launches Suvarnabhumi-Kuala Lumpur – Carrier’s First International Route from Suvarnabhumi Airport

AirAsia Thailand (flight code FD) has launched its first international flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport, becoming the only low-fare airline to fly direct from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) – Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Malaysia.

The route, offering up to two flights a day, has been very well received by AirAsia guests both in Thailand and abroad, signaling a robust recovery for international tourism and travel.

Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of AirAsia Thailand said,“Suvarnabhumi Airport is an excellent hub both for passengers and the airline. AirAsia currently operates three routes from the airport, flying to Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi. Starting in June,  AirAsia is, for the first time, flying internationally from the base with Suvarnabhumi-Kuala Lumpur, taking passengers to the Malaysian capital, which is an important economic hub that offers both business and leisure.”

“Adding international routes from Suvarnabhumi Airport provides greater choice and convenience to our guests and is part of AirAsia Thailand’s strategy for discovering new opportunities now that tourism is reviving. Travelers will be able to connect domestically in Thailand with AirAsia’s flights to Phuket, Chiang Mai and Krabi, so Malaysian and other international arrivals will be well served. We plan to introduce more international routes from Suvarnabhumi to build a comprehensive network in the future,” Mr. Santisuk said.

AirAsia now offers two choices for return flights between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Don Mueang-Kuala Lumpur is available daily, served by AirAsia Berhad (AK), and Suvarnabhumi-Kuala Lumpur flies two times a day, served by Thai AirAsia (FD). Reservations and promotions for the routes are available on the airasia Super App.

AirAsia Thailand and Suvarnabhumi Airport today organised a welcoming ceremony with over 80% load factor of guests arriving on flight FD411 from Kuala Lumpur.

Flight Schedule:

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) – Kuala Lumpur (KUL), commencing 20 June 2022
