A fascinating photo exhibition “The Beauty of Siam: Anantara Siamese Fighting Fish”, a portrait series by the renowned photographer Visarute Angkatavanich, opens at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort this June-July 2019.
The Beauty of Siam: Anantara Siamese Fighting Fish is a collaboration between Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas and Visarute Angkatavanich, a Thai artist who took the world by storm with his iconic photos of one of the nation’s most poetic emblems.ง
A commercial photographer, Bangkokian Visarute Angkatavanich decided to translate his boyhood love of fighting fish into an ongoing series of portraits. His latest exhibition captures the beauty of the native species using dramatic lighting that highlights unique markings and tail movements.
The Beauty of Siam: Anantara Siamese Fighting Fish photography exhibition is presented in the lower lobby of Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort and the adjacent Riverside Plaza from now until 31 July 2019.
The event also presents fighting fish-inspired products namely Betta Paradiso photo book (THB 1500) by Visarute Angkatavanich which includes the artist’s original collection since 2011 and limited-edition Betta Paradiso silk scarf (THB 3,600) designed by M.L. Chiratorn Chirapravati, renowned Thai artist and designer.
To mark the celebration of the Thailand’s national aquatic animal, Anantara Riverside offers a series of fighting fish-themed drinks and light bites available throughout the 2-month exhibition. Guests are invited to stop by the Elephant Bar or join a Manohra cruise for specially crafted tropical cocktails ‘Chao Phraya Betta’ and ‘Fight Night by the River’. All-day offerings at Numero Uno will also include pastries and confectioneries inspired by the national emblem.
