Awakening ‘Summery Dream Afternoon Tea – Limited Edition’ by Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok x Artist Jirayu Koo

Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is incorporating art into its afternoon tea sets in a collaboration between Executive Pastry Chef Franck Istel and renowned Thai artist and illustrator Ms Jirayu Koo-Armornpatana with her creation of
Glom-Glom, Jira’s signature roly-poly character.

This exciting new edition manifests the appreciation of art and portrays creative ways it can be converted into savouries and sweets.
With the use of vibrant colours, fun shapes and a sparkling aesthetic, the all-new ‘Summery Dream Afternoon Tea – Limited Edition’ will inspire guests to escape into their inner self to play, as well as experience the five senses, throughout this fun journey.

A modern perspective meets classic European, this Limited Edition set was inspired by a Bangkok-based artist and illustrator, Jirayu Koo, bringing to life positive visuals from all things around her with a bold colour combination.

Glom-Glom, Jira’s creation of a sweet roly-poly lady figure full of fun, excitement and confidence in the concept of floating in a summer of happiness, coupled with Executive Pastry Chef Franck’s mouth-watering
creations, will provide guests with an awakening summer dream, very much worth experiencing.

The ‘Summery Dream Afternoon Tea – Limited Edition’ features 16 unique miniature sweet and savoury items that come in all fun shapes, shades and colours, including the lemon basil and strawberry cube; hazelnut pyramid orange almond soft cake; mango raspberry dome and chocolate shortbread; matcha green tea financier and yuzu curd; vanilla pineapple tartlet with coconut whipped cream; assortment of chocolate leaves on chocolateso il; and sweet grissini with white chocolate crisp strawberry and milk chocolate pistachio.

The savoury items feature black truffle choux; Norwegian smoked salmon with wasabi and ikura salmon roe; lobster and prawn canapé presented on a coral made of sago in black squid ink; rosemary shortbread with pumpkin, orange and cream cheese decorated as a flower garden; and last but definitely not least, caramelised onion and bacon tart with a cloud of shaved manchego cheese.

Of course, the afternoon-tea classic vanilla, pistachio scone and apricot scones is served with homemade vanilla strawberry jam, lemon curd and Devonshire clotted cream and cannot be missed.

Tea Master Ging Nipaporn Hanwichai has delicately selected a variety of exquisite Ronnefeldt tea to pair well with this special afternoon-tea edition.
The ‘Summery Dream Afternoon Tea – Limited Edition’ is served daily from 1 May until 31 August 2022 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs at the Lobby Lounge and Hanuman Bar, located on the ground floor of Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, and is priced at THB 1,290++ per set, paired with a choice of Ronnefeldt tea or divine coffee. Every set comes with a complimentary gift – a Glom-Glom printed silk satin handkerchief.

The price is subject to a 10% service charge and 7% government tax.
