Bangkok 2026: Eco-Sanctuary Hotel Indigo Unveiled

IHG Hotels & Resorts - logoBangkok is poised to become home to a groundbreaking development in sustainable luxury travel with the opening of Hotel Indigo at The Forestias in 2026. This exciting new venture, a collaboration between IHG Hotels & Resorts and the Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), promises to set a new standard for eco-friendly accommodations in Thailand.

Nestled in a vast 64-hectare mixed-use development on the city’s eastern edge, Hotel Indigo, The Forestias Bangkok, is not just a hotel; it’s part of a larger ecosystem designed to foster a harmonious relationship between nature, wildlife, and humans. The largest project in Thailand, Six Senses The Forestias, integrates residential areas, office spaces, retail outlets, dining options, expansive meeting facilities, a hospital, and another IHG property.

With 274 well-appointed rooms, Hotel Indigo The Forestias is designed to immerse guests in the natural beauty surrounding it. The hotel draws architectural and interior design inspiration from the rich forest ecosystem, ensuring every aspect of the guest experience is infused with local flora and fauna elements.

Saowarin Chanprakaisi, Senior Director of Development at IHG for Southeast Asia & Korea, shares, “Our collaboration with MQDC highlights our mutual commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences that resonate with our commitment to environmental stewardship. We’re excited to be at the forefront of defining the future of community living.”

The hotel’s strategic location at Bangna Km.7 means it’s just a 15-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and 20 minutes from central Bangkok, with both destinations easily accessible via a forthcoming high-speed rail link. This connectivity is complemented by the hotel’s robust amenities, including several dining venues focusing on locally sourced ingredients, a café, a lounge, a pool bar, a gym, a swimming pool, and over 6,500 square meters of flexible meeting space.

Mr Paisit Kaenchan, Head of Hotel & Hospitality Business at MQDC, notes, “Hotel Indigo The Forestias is set to become a flagship presence in the development, embodying our design philosophy that emphasizes the vibrant interplay between community and environment. Our guests will experience a deep connection to the locale through eco-educational and nature-centric activities.”

Hotel Indigo’s inclusion in IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle collection reflects its branded boutique hotel sector leader position. With 153 locations worldwide and more than 130 projects in development, the brand continues to capture the essence of the neighbourhoods it inhabits.

As Thailand remains a vibrant market for IHG—with 39 hotels across nine brands and 37 more in the pipeline—the addition of Hotel Indigo The Forestias Bangkok underscores the country’s growing appeal as a top destination for travellers seeking sustainable and immersive experiences in unique settings.
