Channel cultural incentive experiences in Hua Hin

Cultural experiences in Hua Hin are plentiful and varied. Whether museums, temples, tea plantations or more unusual options such as a dinner theatre or avant-garde exhibitions, classical and contemporary Thai cultures are featured across numerous venues.

One example is The Standard, Hua Hin, which exhibited a series of vibrant, thought-provoking paintings, sculptures and installations by local artists throughout its resort in January this year to bring guests on an evocative, multi-sensory journey from the hotel’s social lobby to the poolside and the beautiful beach.

The immersive event was curated by Bangkok-based artist NEV3R and featured interactive activities including expert-led workshops, DJ parties, lightmapping, and more. The six-day celebration of cutting-edge, contemporary culture created a platform for guests, residents and art enthusiasts to meet, mingle and learn new skills in a tranquil seafront setting.

Hua Hin’s well-known coastal culture extends beyond the great beachside retreats. Incentive groups are spoiled for choice when it comes to team-building activities, CSR programmes and cultural immersion experiences.

For those who wish to get acquainted with the culture and lifestyle of local people, visit the Hua Hin Artists Village (Baan Sillapin), Hua Hin’s original arts centre spread across four acres of galleries, studios, craft shops, open-air cafes, and numerous workshops where you can create your own artworks.

Opened in 1998, it is the home and working place of more than 19 sculptors, painters, and artists from various fields of art from all over Thailand. Visit anytime from 10am to 5pm on Tuesdays to Sundays (Hua Hin Art Village is closed every Monday), and be introduced to a world of art in a safe, friendly and warm space.

Renowned actress, director, playwright and founder of the Legendary Patravadi Theatre in Bangkok, Patravadi Mejudhon opened Vic Hua Hin in 2010 as an institution for arts and culture for the new generation. Her vision was to create a comprehensive arts complex where art and culture is learnt, shared, enjoyed and exchanged for Thai and international visitors, students and artists alike.

The 30-rai (11.8 acres) Vic Hua Hin compound includes studios, accommodation, an indoor and outdoor theatre, a puppet theatre, a gallery, seminar spaces, a school, and a restaurant.

Hua Hin has a special place in the hearts of the Thai people, where royal residences like Maruekatayawan Palace and Klai Kang Won Palace were built during the reign of Rama VI and also the cradle of King Bhumibol’s (Rama IX) many royal projects.

Add a touch of exclusivity to your corporate incentive trip with a tour of the royal summer residence. One of the landmarks of Hua Hin, the Klai Kang Won Palace, is only accessible by permission from the Royal Household Office and only when the royal family is not occupying the palace. The palace was built in Spanish-style architecture in 1929, with manicured gardens full of art pieces from Java.

Although Thailand is a tropical country, there are a few locations in the countryside that are conducive to wine-making, and one of them is the Monsoon Valley Vineyard, a 560-acre piece of land that offers wine-tasting and dining experiences.

The grapes in Monsoon Valley are grown in two other locations: Tab Kwang Vineyard and Chiang Mai Vineyard. Besides the open-top jeep tour, groups can also opt to ride mountain bikes to explore the vineyard. After the tour, visitors can enjoy the wine-tasting and meals created for the ultimate vineyard experience.
