Crystal, the epitome of luxury cruise experiences, has announced the signing of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the esteemed Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. This pivotal partnership heralds the construction of two innovative ships poised to revolutionize high-end sea travel.
Redefining Luxury at Sea
The new vessels, designed to accommodate 690 passengers based on double occupancy, will boast a gross tonnage of 61,800 tons. These ships promise an array of luxurious amenities and avant-garde designs, ensuring an unparalleled experience for discerning travellers. The design efforts will be spearheaded by renowned architectural firms Studio Ibsen, Professor and Architect Adriana Granato, and Studio Gem, headed by Naval Architect Giacomo Mortola and Naval Engineer Lorenzo Mortola. An additional international design firm will also contribute, bringing further sophistication to the interiors, featuring exquisite marble, Italian fabrics, and natural materials typically reserved for opulent private residences.
Exceptional Amenities and Unmatched Comfort
A standout feature of the new ships will be a grand promenade encircling the entire perimeter, reminiscent of the beloved promenades on Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Culinary enthusiasts will be treated to a diverse range of world-class dining options, including the exclusive Nobu at Sea, Umi Uma, and the recently announced Beefbar. Crystal will maintain its tradition of offering premier entertainment, coupled with a sophisticated casino featuring a variety of gaming options in an elegant setting.
Wellness and relaxation will be central to the new ship’s design, with a comprehensive spa and state-of-the-art fitness centre available to all guests. Families travelling with children will appreciate a dedicated area designed to provide engaging activities and a safe environment for younger guests.
All-Suite Accommodations and Personalized Service
The new vessels will feature all-suite accommodations with private verandas, including a popular single-occupancy category for solo travellers. This commitment to comfort is enhanced by one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the industry, ensuring personalized service and meticulous attention to detail.

Looking Ahead
The first ship is slated for delivery in the spring of 2028, with the construction timeline for the second ship to be announced later. This announcement comes two years after A&K Travel Group acquired Crystal in 2022, marking a new chapter for the renowned cruise line. Crystal has also secured an option to build a third sister ship, scheduled for delivery in 2032.
