Decathlon’s 8th Anniversary: Sports for All, 4,000 Equipment Donated

Decathlon Thailand, a French sporting goods retailer, celebrates its 8th anniversary by emphasizing the brand’s vision, ‘MOVE PEOPLE THROUGH THE WONDERS OF SPORT.’ At Decathlon, one of the core beliefs is, “Don’t say you don’t like sports; it’s just you haven’t found the favourite and enjoyable sports for yourself.” This belief is reflected in the “Find Your Sport at Decathlon” campaign. From this campaign activity, Decathlon was able to pass along over 4,000 sports equipment to The Mirror Foundation. The campaign aims to support and encourage Thai people to exercise more often while introducing new sports for those trying to find the right one.

The “Find Your Sport at Decathlon” campaign encourages Thai people to find the enjoyable sports, allowing them more accessible options for sports by bringing their unwanted items to the stores and receiving the new ones. Decathlon Thailand partners with The Mirror Foundation, ensuring the exchanged items go to needy people.

Passing unwanted and unused sports equipment to those in need aligns with Decathlon’s business value: “MOVE PEOPLE THROUGH THE WONDERS OF SPORT”.Besides, Decathlon emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation. Examples of the environmental projects are ECO DESIGN – product design that generates lower environmental impact; second Life – distributing used items to reduce wastes from unused sports equipment; Zero Waste to Disposal – reusing old items to make it zero-waste, and EcoMobility – reducing CO2 emissions from the staff and related parties by using EV cars to distribute products to each store.

The “Find Your Sport at Decathlon” campaign activity was held for five days at five selected Decathlon stores: Bangna, Rama 2, Bangyai, Rama 4, and Rangsit. The campaign received positive feedback from Decathlon’s customers. Over 6,000 participants registered for this campaign. Decathlon received more than 4,000 sports equipment from this activity. The campaign supports and encourages Thai people to exercise more often. It also introduces new sports that will likely be one’s favourite sport.
