Diethelm Travel CEO Shares Industry Insight at Thailand Travel Forum 2019

Stephan Roemer, CEO of Diethelm Travel Group, an award-winning inbound tour operator servicing Asia, spoke at the 8th annual Thailand Tourism Forum held at the InterContinental Hotel in Bangkok on 21 January 2019.

Organised by the The American Chamber of Commerce – Thailand (AMCHAM) and C9 Hotelworks Hospitality Consulting Group, the forum is Thailand’s largest annual hospitality event boasting an audience of 850 tourism and hospitality professionals. This year’s forum focused on the theme “MANAGING TOURISM – Ensuring Great Experiences and Sustainable Outcomes.” As Thailand continues to bring in record numbers of tourist arrivals every year, the forum offers an opportunity to check in on the state of the country’s tourism practices as well as hear from local industry experts on both current trends as well as how to proceed in the future.
Together with David Keen, CEO of QUO, Roemer drew on his more than 35 years of experience working in Asia tourism to share insight on the importance of destination marketing including how private and public sectors can impact a destination’s image.
“In today’s connected world where information can travel instantaneously, it’s crucial that destinations actively work to manage their reputations and market their distinct offerings,” said Stephan Roemer, CEO of Diethelm Travel Group. “Both public and private sectors need to come together in promoting a destination’s unique selling points to targeted markets, while also further investing in tourism infrastructure and products that will support a smooth visitor experience.”
Boasting over six decades of operation, Diethelm Travel Group is one of the largest and most established incoming tour operators in Asia creating a carefully curated selection of products and tailor-made itineraries that offer Journeys of a Lifetime.
