Dusit Thani Hua Hin turns 29 in style with extensive renovations giving the property a new lease on life to delight today’s discerning travellers

Dusit Thani Hua Hin, a five-star beachside resort owned and operated by Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has just completed the first stage of an extensive renovation process to reveal 204 new-look guest rooms and suites – as well as a revamped ballroom and newly refurbished all-day dining restaurant – just in time for the resort’s 29th anniversary.

Renovations of the resort, affectionately known locally as the Grande Ol’ Dame of Hua Hin, began in May this year. Phase two of the process, which includes 92 guest rooms, is slated to complete next year.

Since opening on 14 December 1990, Dusit Thani Hua Hin has been widely regarded as one of Thailand’s most prestigious resorts. Thoughtfully designed to reflect the elegant colonial-style architecture found at the nearby palaces of King Rama V and King Rama VI, the beautiful property occupies around 114 rai (45 acres) of pristine tropical beachfront land in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, near the seaside towns of Cha-am and Hua Hin. These popular destinations are known for their long sweeping beaches, charming markets, beautiful golf courses, waterpark attractions, and numerous seafood restaurants. Bangkok is only three hours away by car.

Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s royal influences, the resort’s newly renovated rooms have been completely redecorated in warm, bright, and earthy tones. They have also been refurbished to include a tasteful blend of natural white-woodgrain oak furniture complemented by unique, locally sourced rattan chairs; beautiful ornaments and artworks inspired by the local palaces; and built-in furniture given a white-stained oak or grey Chinese lacquer finish. The carefully curated design lends each room a fresh, airy residential feel.

To enrich its offerings for meetings and events, the hotel has also revamped its renowned Royal Dusit Grand Ballroom. Over the years this elegant space has hosted countless royal and diplomatic functions, top-level government officials and dignitaries, corporate meetings and award-winning incentives. Its grandeur is now even more apparent thanks to a new earth-tone colour scheme and luxurious carpet featuring traditional Thai patterns. The stunning space can welcome up to 1,000 guests, and is divisible into two smaller rooms for private events.

Well-known for its choice of high-quality dining experiences overlooking the beach, including signature Ban Benjarong Thai Restaurant, San Marco Italian Restaurant, and Rim Talay Bar & Grill, the award-winning hotel has also refurbished its all-day-dining venue, The Restaurant. The new, light and vibrant space offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy daily buffet breakfast and an array of international cuisines.

“We are delighted to complete the first stage of our renovation process to deliver new spaces and new experiences for our guests and customers,” said Mr Pipat Patthananusorn, General Manager, Dusit Thani Hua Hin. “Over the past 29 years, Dusit Thani Hua Hin has proven a popular destination for visiting holidaymakers of all nationalities, as well as being the business or pleasure destination of choice for royalty and government delegations. Our renovations, which maintain the resort’s classic identity while giving it a fresh new look, will ensure we are well-positioned to continue evolving our offerings to reach new markets. It also marks the start of our journey towards developing the resort into an enticing wellness centre where guests will enjoy a holistic approach to well-being. This includes the opportunity to experience healthy cuisine made using the finest organic ingredients sourced from local farmers in line with our ‘Live Well, Eat Well’ concept.”

To celebrate the launch of its new-look rooms, Dusit Thani Hua Hin is offering special dining privileges to guests who book to stay in a Deluxe Room through the end of the year.
