Emirates Wishes Lucky Lunar New Year!

Celebrating Lunar New Year on the 10 February and heralding the year of the Dragon, Emirates customers can embrace the luck of the season with curated menus in Emirates lounges in Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Shanghai, and Beijing, enjoy traditional ‘red envelopes’ shared inflight, and blockbuster movies onboard in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Emirates customers on select routes will be treated to a Lunar New Year dessert, a luscious

red velvet lychee cake in First and Business Class, and a creamy red velvet lychee mousse in Economy Class. First and Business Class customers will also receive a traditional red envelope filled with chocolate coins, to share the good luck and wishes of the new year.

In the Emirates Lounge of Bangkok, customers will be enticed by beef sweet and sour- succulent tender beef with sweet and tangy flavours, or chicken rice hainan – Hainanese chicken seasoned with a blend of ginger, garlic and sauce, followed by a dessert of orange mousse cake.

In Beijing, customers can indulge in Gongbao Prawn with cashew nuts followed by eight treasure rice pudding, while in Shanghai, Lunar New Year will be celebrated with sweet and sour mandarin fish or wok fried beef strips with mixed pepper, followed by red velvet cake.

All Emirates customers are welcome to enjoy Emirates‘ Lounges; First Class and Business Class customers can access all lounges on a complimentary basis, as well as Silver, Gold and Platinum Skywards members. Other passengers can experience the lounge starting from USD 160, enjoying the facilities for up to four hours before a flight.

Onboard Emiratescustomers celebrating Lunar New Year can get into the holiday spirit with up 21 Mandarin and 12 Cantonese movies including ‘Day Off’, ‘Lighting Up the Stars’, ‘Awakening Spring’ and ‘Mad Fate’. There are also more than 250 Hollywood movies with Chinese subtitles to explore, including new releases ‘Oppenheimer’, ‘The Marvels’ and ‘Priscilla’. Customers can also get in the festive mood with a music library of 115 Chinese albums and 1,000 songs. For those celebrating Vietnamese New Year, also known as Tet Festival, there are 7 Vietnamese movies to choose from including; ‘Extremely Easy Job’, ‘578 Magnum’, ‘The Brilliant Darkness’ and ‘Big Sis, You’re Mine’.
