As Executive Chef of InterContinental Singapore, Kenny Chung oversees the luxury heritage hotel’s culinary operations and plays an integral role in the upkeep and driving of the hotel as a dining destination with its award-winning restaurants and bars, namely LUCE by Davide Giacomelli, Man Fu Yuan, The Lobby Lounge, as well as the events, conference and banqueting department.
Of Mauritian roots, Kenny brings with him 20 years of culinary and catering experience across varied cuisines, including French fine dining, Mediterranean, European cuisine as well as Steakhouse concept with knowledge of Asian and Indian Cuisine.
Kenny’s outstanding leadership and proficiency in operations saw him managing the kitchen at The Imperial Hotel in New Delhi, and the opening of independent restaurants in Burgundy and Provence, France. Arriving in Singapore in 2009, he joined Raffles Hotel Singapore and thereafter the St Regis Singapore where he led high profile collaborations with Michelin-starred chefs and has a few awards under his belt including leading Brasserie Les Saveurs to achieve one star in Singapore’s Top Restaurants 2018/19 Awards.
Prior to his appointment as Executive Chef of InterContinental Singapore in September 2022, Kenny was the Executive Sous Chef at Capella Singapore for four fulfilling years, where he played an integral role in leading and training the culinary team, responsible for developing menus and implementing operational procedures for the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. This has led to him receiving the Excellent Service Award in 2021 and most recently, Kenny was appointed to implement the hotel’s newest Italian concept – Fiamma restaurant with consultant Chef Mauro Colagreco.
A hands-on leader who leads by example, Kenny will continue to groom and grow the culinary team at InterContinental Singapore – instilling high standards of customer service, innovation and efficiency to deliver True Hospitality to all guests.
Outside of work, Kenny enjoys bowling, fishing and spending time with his family.
