The cheapest cities in the world for 5* hotels have been revealed in new research – Bangkok, Thailand is the 3rd cheapest city in the world offering five-star luxury for $108.

The research from Luxury Hotel analysed the cost of a one night stay at five-star hotels across the world to reveal the cheapest cities in the world for a night of luxury.

Bangkok, Thailand is the 3rd cheapest city in the world for five-star hotels, with a price of $108 per night. 8 of the 10 cheapest places for five-star hotels are in Asia, one in each of Europe and North America.
Further findings:
  • The global average of a one night stay in a five-star hotel is $272, in comparison, Europe’s average is $286.

  • Mexico City, Mexico, is North America’s cheapest five-star destination costing $118. It was followed by Punta Cana, Dominican Republic ($246) and Las Vegas, USA ($273).

  • Doha, Qatar has the highest proportion of five-star hotels, with 51.43% of its hotels being five-star. New York has the highest proportion of five-star hotels in the US, with 14.22%.
