GranMonte: 25 Years of Thai Wine Excellence Gala Celebration!

GranMonte Vineyard and Winery proudly marks its 25th Anniversary Celebration with a Gala Dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Anantara Siam Bangkok.

The Gala Dinner is a culmination of GranMonte’s 25 years of pioneering excellence in the Thai wine industry. It is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the Lohitnavy family: Mr Visooth and Mrs Sakuna Lohitnavy, and their daughters Nikki Lohitnavy and Mimi Lohitnavy, in shaping GranMonte’s success.

Established in 1999 on a 40-acre plot in Khao Yai, GranMonte began on an extraordinary journey, transforming former cashew orchards into a vineyard and laying the foundation for a legacy that redefined Thai wine production.

GranMonte’s ascendancy as the true vanguard of Thai wine is underscored by multiple facets. The Geographical Indication (GI) certification secured in 2018 solidifies GranMonte’s commitment to preserving the authenticity and quality of “Khao Yai Wine.” The visionary leadership of the Lohitnavy family, led by Visooth Lohitnavy and propelled by the unmatched expertise of Nikki Lohitnavy, the first fully qualified oenologist and winemaker in Thailand, has been instrumental in shaping GranMonte’s success.

In addition to Visooth and Nikki Lohitnavy’s contributions, the invaluable dedication of Sakuna Lohitnavy and Mimi Lohitnavy, pivotal members of the family, has played a significant role in GranMonte’s ascent. Sakuna Lohitnavy’s steadfast leadership as President has steered the winery’s strategic growth and business initiatives, while Mimi Lohitnavy, as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, has tirelessly worked towards elevating GranMonte’s brand presence on a national to global scale.

The past few decades have witnessed a transformative era for F&B in Thailand, with an increasing focus on elevating culinary experiences. The emergence of fine-dining establishments and the prestigious Michelin Guide’s recognitions have been pivotal in shaping the nation’s gastronomic landscape. GranMonte Vineyard and Winery, as a key player in the Thai wine industry, has grown alongside these developments, contributing to the enhancement of Thailand’s reputation as a global gastronomy destination.

The Gala Dinner, scheduled for this momentous occasion, celebrates 25 years of unparalleled dedication, innovation, and achievement in the Thai wine industry.

GranMonte stands tall as Thailand’s unmatched leader in winemaking, producing high-quality wines from local Khao Yai grapes that embody the essence of Khao Yai’s terroir. As the only GI-certified wine in Thailand, GranMonte’s commitment to preserving the heritage, quality and honest origin of Thai wine over the past 25 years is unparalleled.

The event will highlight GranMonte’s commitment to producing high-quality wines and its significant role in promoting Thailand as a Gastronomy Destination. The presence of esteemed attendees from the government, private sector, and tourism agencies underscores the industry-wide recognition of GranMonte’s achievements.

History:

GranMonte Vineyard is the story of a vision driven by Visooth Lohitnavy’s passion for wine.

In 1999, a 12-hectare plot of land in the Northeast of Thailand, once a cornfield and cashew plantation, was about to realize its potential. Here, nestled in the foothills of Khao Yai National Park, Visooth settled with his wife, Sakuna, and two young daughters, Nikki and Mimi. Soon, the land was cleared in preparation for his entrepreneurial pursuit. Little by little, Visooth studied vines and soil types, choosing the right varieties of Vitis vinifera to discover those that would grow and yield fruit for the next generations.
