HOMA Cherngtalay: Bang Tao’s Transformation Spotlight!

HOMA Cherngtalay’s purpose-built co-living apartments are now open in Phuket, taking centre stage as the Bang Tao, Cherngtalay and Laguna areas in Phuket transform from being a tourist hot-spot to a vibrant metropolitan hub attracting long- and short-term residents.

HOMA is a pioneering housing company that offers environmentally-friendly rental apartments at affordable prices. The rental fee includes a wide range of on-site facilities: gym access, fitness classes, co-working spaces, weekly housekeeping, and weekly co-living activities such as movie nights and football clubs to networking events and special workshops.

The property is fully-managed by HOMA and operated using a hotel licence, offering 423 units ranging from studio rooms to 1-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom flats, and 3-bedroom suites. These are available for rent from a single night up to a year or more. Each apartment features cooking facilities, although residents can also eat and drink at ‘People’, the ground floor coffee shop, and ‘Mingle’, the rooftop poolside eatery.

HOMA Cherngtalay is dedicated to environmental responsibility, incorporating a range of energy-efficient and water-saving initiatives into the building’s design. These initiatives include recycling and waste management programs, innovative water conservation strategies with smart systems, and renewable energy solutions like solar panels. It has been built to comply with the latest sustainability standards and has achieved LEED and EDGE certifications.

As well as creating its own community, HOMA selected Cherngtalay for its second Phuket location, attracted by the area’s ongoing transformation from a tourist destination to a more residential setting. After opening in 2019, HOMA Phuket Town has built a large community and enjoys an average occupancy rate higher than 90%r for its 505 apartments.

“Cherngtalay and Bang Tao areas have seen significant private infrastructure investment post-pandemic, with the addition of new shopping malls, attractions, and properties. However, this also makes the area more expensive to live in. At HOMA, we recognize that the home ownership model is evolving due to rising costs and a growing demand for more affordable and flexible housing options. By fostering a community experience complete with essential services and facilities, we cater to a diverse residents, including families, couples, and solo travelers seeking a fulfilling lifestyle,” said Luca Dotti, founder and Managing Director of HOMA.

In the heart of Cherngtalay

HOMA is situated in the centre of Cherngtalay, providing immediate access to major roads that lead to the airport, Heroine’s Monument, Patong Beach, and the increasing number of international schools, shopping malls, and hospitals in Phuket.

Daily living is made easy as HOMA Cherngtalay, which is located opposite Boat Avenue Shopping Village, a large outdoor shopping complex home to a community of independent shops and restaurants, as well as a supermarket that stocks a wide range of international foods, should residents choose to cook at home.

From HOMA Cherngtalay. it’s just a short ride to Blue Tree, Phuket’s largest water park, offering the perfect setting for days out with family and friends. The area is ideal for water lovers, and its proximity to the beach ensures easy access to sailing, kayaking, wakeboarding, snorkelling, and other water-bound activities. Moreover, the steady breeze at Bang Tao makes it an ideal spot for windsurfing.

Nearby, Bang Tao, one of Phuket’s longest beaches, offers a vast selection of dining and leisure options. With its west-facing orientation, this popular beach provides many spots to eat, drink, and watch the sunset, from laid back restaurants with bamboo-tables on the beach to sophisticated fine-dining. Bang Tao’s transformation into an international hot spot means that cuisines from around the world can be found along this stretch of coastline. Despite its popularity, the beach remains peaceful and relaxed, offering a serene alternative to the island’s busier beaches.

For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, the area is rich in activities, with plenty of coastal cycling and running routes. Muay Thai training is also available for enthusiasts. For those seeking more leisurely pursuits, horse-riding along the beach is a popular and less energetic option.

Staying at HOMA Cherngtalay situates residents in the heart of the thriving Cherngtalay and Bang Tao community, offering both a rich local experience and a hassle-free rental.

“We are very excited about the development of the Bang Tao area and what it has to offer to both Thai and foreign residents seeking a different way of living. Our community model has proven to be very successful. Just one month after opening, we are on track to secure over 40% occupancy, demonstrating that we have struck the right balance between community, privacy, and affordability that people are looking for,” added Dotti.
