“ICONCRAFT” Presents Thai Value through Innovative Arts in “ICONCRAFT x Bangkok Design Week 2019” January 27 – February 17, 2019, 4th Floor of ICONSIAM

ICONCRAFT, showcasing a myriad of innovative Thai arts and crafts on the 4th and 5th floor of ICONSIAM, joins hands with “Bangkok Design Week 2019” in hosting “ICONCRAFT x Bangkok Design Week 2019” under “Craft the Future” concept from January 27 to February 17, 2019, on the 4th floor of ICONSIAM. In addition to displaying distinctive work of Thai artists, the event aims to bring out the full potential of Bangkok as the city attracting creators and producers who turn various fields of local and global knowledge from both old and young generation into commercial products or products that enhance the users’ quality of life.

Mrs. Parisa Chatnilbandhu, Senior Director of Siam Piwat Retail Holding Co., Ltd., reveal, “ICONCRAFT under the concept of ‘innovative craft designed for everyday life’ presents contemporary art created out of traditional artistic beauty. The venue therefore serves as the first center of innovative Thai arts and crafts in Thailand, giving young designers a chance to preserve and enhance invaluable craft skills and knowledge from the past and create novel and appealing items that serve the needs of consumers, especially Thai people and foreign tourists in younger generation. This time, ICONSIAM, together with Bangkok Design Week 2019” is hosting “ICONCRAFT x Bangkok Design Week 2019” from January 27 to February 17, 2019, at ICONCRAFT, 4th floor of ICONSIAM to present the captivating design of Thai artists and bring out the full potential of Bangkok as the city attracting creators and producers who turn various fields of local and global knowledge from both old and young generation. The event is divided into three zones. Craft Designer to Watch presents the work and stories of 10 up-and-coming designers in 2019 such as Siam Hand Made by Mr. Wipu Srivilas, globally recognized ceramic artist. In Talk and workshop under Isan theme by Department of International Trade Promotion, M.L. Pawinee Santisiri, Pichitra Boonyarattapan and Pirada Seneewong Na Ayudhya will talk about how to apply the Northeastern wisdom in “Isan project” to contemporary design. Furthermore, the participants will learn how to make custom-made perfume by zodiac, which is believed to bring them good luck. In Craft Market, shoppers will enjoy a special promotion from various brands of Thai crafts such as Erb, Araliko, B-Sa-B, BKK Bubble Bar, Indigo and Craft Product.”
