J&T Express, an international express logistics company, announced at LEAP, a global technology conference held in Saudi Arabia, that it will set up its MENA regional headquarters in Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and build the largest smart logistics industrial park in the region.
On behalf of the Saudi government, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with J&T Express on the smart logistics industrial park project. The industrial park will include world-class sorting centres, automated warehousing systems, air cargo terminals, e-commerce industrial parks, and modern industrial parks.
J&T Express is committed to training professional logistics personnel in Saudi Arabia and investing in advanced hardware and software infrastructure over the next ten years, making Saudi Arabia a global hub and strategic operation centre for the entire regional market. J&T Express also hopes to promote the development of Saudi Arabia’s technology-driven industrial economy and foster robust growth in local retail and manufacturing sectors, with the goal of making Saudi Arabia a pivotal gateway that bridges Asia, Europe and Africa, and helping to achieve Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The Saudi government will support the initiative with necessary infrastructure and policy backing to drive the overall development of logistics and commerce in the region.
J&T Express Thailand CEO Bruce Liu said, “We are delighted that J&T Express is building a smart logistics park in Saudi Arabia to better serve consumers and partners. This is another important milestone in J&T Express’ overall globalisation strategy. Our growing network and capital as well as our management models in such international markets provide us with valuable insights and resources to cater to customers globally. J&T Express will leverage these strengths to further invest in the Thailand market and promote the sustainable development of Thailand’s express logistics industry.”
J&T Express officially launched its operations in Thailand in March 2019 and has since become one of the three largest and fastest-growing express delivery companies in the country. As of 2021, the company has established over 6,000 branches in Thailand, successfully achieving full coverage in the country. To maximise efficiency, J&T Express Thailand is upgrading its national transit centre automation equipment using the most advanced technology in the market today. Looking ahead, the company plans to focus its resources on further expanding the network density and narrowing the service reach radius, as well as expanding the scope of door-to-door pickup services to cover Greater Bangkok and outer provinces by the end of 2022. Through this, J&T Express Thailand aims to provide more efficient and convenient services and diversified choices in the new year to further enhance the consumer experience.
Going forward, J&T Express will continue to invest in the Thai market, focusing on consumer trends and market demand to provide local consumers and partners with enhanced services and promote the development of the industry, as part of its global strategy to connect the world with greater efficiency and bring logistical benefits to all.
