Luxurious Anam Resort: A Paradise in Cam Ranh

The Anam - Colonial Restaurant. How many gardeners does it take to ensure the 12 hectares of gardens, grounds and lawns surrounding the stunning five-star Anam Resort in Vietnam’s Cam Ranh peninsula remain pristine?

The landscape, lined with bougainvillea, coconut trees, and richly manicured lawns, is one of the most appealing highlights of the 213-room resort. The Anam was the first luxurious property in the region and now boasts 480 employees, including 80 gardeners who tend the stunning grounds.

“Sustainability is a very important management objective, and the resort has its own water filtering plant, we grow our own vegetables and flowers and have a strict no plastic rule. There is also a project to provide guests with more activities at no extra cost. A new Mini Golf Course is about to be launched on the free list,” said Nguyen Bao Trung, the resort’s Marketing Manager.

“We also invest time and energy in the magical landscape which is distinctive in the area. Guests are very impressed with the grounds when they arrive and this makes a positive lasting impression of the property,” he said.

Building The Anam commenced in 2014 and was completed in 2017. Mr Norbert Meyer has been the Resort Manager since its opening. He is an old-school manager with an affable nature who inspires the employees with his teaching and leadership.

The hotel’s original slogan when it first opened was “no stress, no news, no shoes.” Now, it has changed to “Indochine charm—modern luxury.”

All the pathways around the resort can be accessed barefoot, hence the no-shoes ethos.

The name Anam refers to “An Nam,” the name of Central Vietnam during the French Indochina era. The Anam Cam Ranh overlooks 300 metres of beachfront on Vietnam’s scenic Cam Ranh peninsula, which averages more than 300 sunny days yearly.

The Anam recently unveiled two elegant villas just for honeymooners, each with a private pool, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna room and daily afternoon tea. The 180-square-metre ‘Honeymoon Villas’ is set on 400 square metres of lush hillside land adjacent to the grounds of the resort’s tranquil 10-treatment room spa.

Each one-bedroom villa features a separate living room, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna room and private terrace with sun loungers overlooking a glassy-surfaced 40-square-metre private pool.

The resort is 300 km northeast of HCMC, and it is a 40-minute flight with Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet. Cam Ranh shares the new international airport and current domestic building with Nha Trang. The international airport also has regular direct flights from Hong Kong, South Korea, China, and Russia. South Korea has five flights a day arriving in Cam Ranh.
