Luxury Redefined: Rosewood Phnom Penh’s Lunar New Year

This New Year, Rosewood Phnom Penh invites guests to embark on a sensory journey that combines culinary excellence with sustainable dining and take part in a calendar that presents the most talented artists in the country. From opulent Chinese New Year menus by fine Chinese dining restaurant Zhan Liang, to the launch of the property’s state-of-the-art hydroponic garden proudly established in partnership with Vattanac Properties, Rosewood Phnom Penh sets the stage for a new era of luxury that surpasses the ordinary and showcases the best of Cambodian hospitality.

Lunar New Year Specials: Culinary Voyages at Zhan Liang

As the Lunar New Year  approaches, Zhan Liang, Rosewood Phnom Penh’s signature Chinese fine dining restaurant, presents a series of four premium dine-in menus: Happiness (USD158 per person for four); Reunion (USD1,888 for 10 pax); Bountiful (USD2,888 for 10 pax) and Health and Longevity (USD4,388 for 10 pax). Each pays homage to centuries-old Chinese traditions weaved with contemporary dining influences. Sitting at the intersection of Cantonese, Sichuan, and Northern Chinese cuisines, each menu is carefully crafted to deliver the most authentic and refined dining experience and showcase the culinary prowess of master chefs, Malaysian-born Chef Teng Kam Seng and Cambodian-born Chef Yoem Sambat.

As an integral part of Lunar New Year celebrations in Southeast Asia, each set menu begins with a Cantonese-style Prosperity toss ‘Yee Sang,’ featuring premium ingredients such as fresh salmon or geoduck, with options for abalone and lobster available upon request.

Key menu items anchored in the themes of abundance, prosperity, and good fortune in the coming Dragon year include the Year of the Dragon Reunion Lobster Treasures Pot in Golden Broth (USD398, serves 6) that overflows with succulent fresh-flown lobster, braised abalone, fish maw and dried scallops. Monk Jumps Over the Wall is a nourishing pot of premium delicacies simmered in a superior broth, while Chef Sambat’s signature roasts — Roasted GooseRoasted Crispy Pigeon, and Roasted Whole Suckling Pig — are available in respective set menus as well. Takeaway à la carte options are also available and must be pre-ordered two days in advance.

Featured in the ‘Bountiful’ and ‘Health and Longevity’ menus, guests are invited to indulge in the decadent Live King Crab and Wagyu Beef Tenderloin dishes. The Live King Crab is a culinary masterpiece prepared in two ways that showcases the sweet and succulent ingredient, steamed to perfection with XO sauce and deep-fried with tantalising spicy garlic. Meanwhile, the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin is seasoned with Cambodia’s renowned Kampot pepper, delivering a savoury and tender mouthfeel that will create the most unforgettable dining experience.

Corporate celebrations are also available until February 24, with menus starting from USD 988 per table for ten (a minimum booking of seven tables is required). The package includes a ten-course set meal, two bottles of house wine, and a one-night stay at the property’s Executive Room with breakfast for two among other complimentary offerings. Companies can either email phnompenh.events@rosewoodhotels.com or call +855 23 936 888 | 086 777 392 to book.

For those seeking thoughtful gift options this Lunar New Year, Zhan Liang presents two curated hampers for guests to choose from — each designed to exude luxury and timeless tradition. The Year of the Dragon Auspicious Hamper (USD 301) is a nine-piece bundle featuring Golden Nian Gao and Australian Abalone for prosperity, as well as Zhan Liang’s Signature Homemade XO Sauce, while the Year of The Dragon Auspicious Premium Hamper (USD 501) builds on the former with premium grade Yunnan Morels, Japanese Dried Scallops and Superior Fish Maw.
