Marriott Signs Agreement To Debut The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, The Riverside

Three reimagined low-rise structures are expected to be complemented by two brand new buildings featuring 86 stylish rooms and suites with river views and plunge pools, nine exclusive villas, multiple dining destinations including a signature rooftop restaurant, a fully-equipped fitness centre, serene spa, and an outdoor infinity pool with a pool bar. The Shophouse is slated to include 24 rooms, a riverside pool and bar, a wellness centre and space for intimate events, while The Mansion expects to feature 56 breath-taking rooms, an infinity pool, a waterside restaurant, a fitness area and a kidsā€™ room.

Scheduled to open in phases in 2026, The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, The Riverside is set to be a one-of-a-kind waterfront hotel and urban sanctuary located on three separate sites on opposite banks of the Chao Phraya, Bangkokā€™s legendary ā€œRiver of Kingsā€.

With exquisite architecture, leafy courtyards, shady walkways, an ornate shrine and lush foliage, the property is also expected to include event spaces for lifeā€™s most important occasions, including corporate gatherings and waterfront weddings. Inspired by the concept of ā€œyin and yangā€, with distinct elements facing each other across the rippling water, this innovative project expects to bring The Ritz-Carlton brandā€™s timeless sophistication to the city.

We are delighted to work with AWC to bring The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, and The Riverside to the historic section of the Chao Phraya River to create a unique destination for urban explorers, wellness seekers and meeting planners alike.

Marriott International, Inc. today announced it has unveiled plans to introduce a new era of refined elegance and luxury hospitality to Thailandā€™s capital city with the signing of The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, The Riverside owned by Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), one of the kingdomā€™s leading integrated lifestyle real estate groups. We are confident that this iconic luxury brand will bring tremendous value to Bangkokā€™s riverside heritage area and drive long-term benefits to the surrounding community and society by preserving the original buildings.

The Shophouse and The Mansion are expected to open in 2026, with The Lhong 1919 Riverside Heritage Destination scheduled to follow in 2027. The main elements of The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, The Riverside will be centred upon The Lhong 1919 Riverside Heritage Destination, a collection of sensitively restored warehouses on the west bank of the Chao Phraya. The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, Riverside expects to become the 20th hotel and operating asset to be owned by AWC and managed by Marriott International in Thailand

Directly opposite the bustling east bank of the Chao Phraya, a beautiful mansion and two revitalized shophouses will capture the essence of SongWad Road, a thriving centre of trade and commerce and the gateway to Bangkokā€™s Chinatown. We believe in embracing local history, culture and architecture to position Thailand as a compelling, creative and sustainable tourism destination,ā€ commented Wallapa Traisorat, Chief Executive Officer & President, of AWC.

This project will reflect the spirit of the past while also presenting the contemporary luxury hospitality of the Ritz-Carlton brand. We are proud to work with AWC as we continue to expand our footprint in Thailand,ā€ said Jakob Helgen, Area Vice President ā€“ Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar, Marriott International.
