Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Continues Strong Growth Momentum in Q1 2019

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s continued growth showed no signs of slowing down when it recently reported more positive figures for its first-quarter performance.
For the period of January to March 2019, it sold 23,991 vehicles, posting a growth of 15.9 percent compared with the same period in 2018. The total industry volume (TIV) for January to March 2019 was 263,549 vehicles, a year-on-year (YOY) growth of 11.2 percent. Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s performance also resulted in a market share of 9.1 percent, compared to 8.7 percent for the same period in 2018.

“Like last year, we start 2019 on a positive note, on the momentum we created from our range of advanced, outstanding design and award-winning vehicles especially MITSUBISHI PAJERO SPORT and MITSUBISHI XPANDER. I am confident we can carry this momentum moving forward into the year,” said Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

“We will continue to populate the market with more new models and special editions in 2019. This is in addition to the continued upgradation of our people, marketing activities and customer satisfaction,” Mr. Chokki added.

MITSUBISHI TRITON took up the lion’s share of sales accounted for 42 percent of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s total sales in Q1 2019. MITSUBISHI XPANDER also returned very favorable results, with sales accounted for 18 percent in the first three months. Since its launch to date, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has already sold approximately 10,000 units of the popular crossover since its launch in last August, surpassing initial sales projections.

MITSUBISHI PAJERO SPORT registered total sales accounted for 16 percent, while the sales of city cars, MITSUBISHI ATTRAGE together with MITSUBISHI MIRAGE, accounted for 24 percent.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand remains committed to customer experience enhancement and dealer network expansion. Customers and fans can also expect 7 new models to bolster its market share to more than 9 percent especially with full-year sales of MITSUBISHI TRITON and MITSUBISHI XPANDER in the calendar year of 2019.
