Nepal’s first luxury hospitality brand offers a stylish new way to experience Nepal

Deboche LodgeThe evolution includes upgrading existing lodges to offer a premium international hospitality experience, adding exquisite new restaurants, building new lodges and adding new one-of-a-kind mountain experiences.
Renowned for its authentic showcase of Nepal’s legendary mountain hospitality and travel experiences for over thirty years, Sherpa Hospitality Group today announced the launch of its new brand, Mountain Lodges of Nepal (MLN).

“Mountain Lodges of Nepal is an extension of our dream to offer world-class, luxury stay experiences in the Himalayas,” said Namgyal Sherpa, Chief Executive Officer of Sherpa Hospitality Group and a born mountaineer whose mother, the late Mrs Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, was famously the first Nepali woman to summit Mount Everest. Launching in the first quarter of 2023, Deboche Lodge in the Everest region will be a brand new hotel by MLN built from the ground up to showcase Deboche as a new destination for adventure seekers. Guests can train for their next climb and whet their appetite at the lodge’s rock-climbing facility before savouring fresh seasonal produce from the property’s vegetable garden at the brand-new helipad-turned-restaurant and lounge.

MLN is designed to capture the essence of New Nepal and honour the traditions of mountain hospitality – offering an international lifestyle to reach one’s peak through challenging but accessible treks.

“From alleviating the hassles of flight and itinerary planning to providing comforting hospitality at our welcoming lodges, guests can count on us for truly memorably expeditions,” he said. An evolution of the former Yeti Mountain Home and Ker & Downey Nepal, this is a collection of 15 family-owned premium lodges offering spectacular treks along the Great Himalayan Trails.

Situated along the idyllic Dudh Koshi river 8,533 feet above sea level, Phakding Lodge is the first newly transformed lodge to be unveiled since the MLN brand’s debut. Alongside the family-own lodge collection, MLN also offers thoughtfully curated immersive experiences and trails for spiritual journeys, each carefully assessed on their trekking duration and varying difficulty levels. Other upcoming properties to launch under MLN include new lodges in the Annapurna region. The MLN lodges will offer intrepid explorers much-needed comfort and relief from their dexterous climbs with warmth, welcome and guidance through the Sherpa way. Some unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences include helicopter rides for breakfast at Mount Everest and honey hunting of the wild nectar from the beehives on perilous cliffs.

Each exceptional lodge embodies the brand’s four pillars of sustainability, comfort, dining and service. As part of the group’s exciting pipeline, the first quarter of 2023 will also see the highly-anticipated opening of Shinta Mani Mustang – the first Shinta Mani Hotel outside of Cambodia. It consists of seven lodges in the Everest region and eight in Annapurna.

At present, Sherpa Hospitality Group has a total of 18 properties. Its rocky chic exterior and room interiors incorporate large rocks from the nearby riverbanks. It will offer spectacular views of Nepal’s iconic mountains, including Everest.
