Oceania Cruises, globally renowned for its unparalleled culinary and destination-focused experiences, has reached a significant milestone in constructing its latest marvel, the 1,200-guest ship Allura. This landmark event occurred at the esteemed Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Italy, adjacent to the historic seaport of Genoa. As the ship transitions from dry-dock to the fitting-out berth, it marks a critical phase towards completion, with luxurious interiors designed to offer an unmatched cruising experience.
In a ceremony underscored by respect and tradition, the ship was blessed by the shipyard’s chaplain, Father Stefano. The event paid homage to the recently deceased General Claudio Graziano, Chairman of Fincantieri. Caterina Romeo, a designer in Fincantieri’s technical department, played the role of Allura’s Madrina, christening the ship and blessing it and its future voyagers.

With its debut on the horizon, Allura is entering the final stages of construction. Focused on opulent suites, sophisticated lounges, and exceptional dining venues, Allura embodies Oceania Cruises’ dedication to culinary excellence and immersive destination experiences. Allura is slated to officially enter service from Trieste, Italy, on July 18, 2025. The ship’s inaugural voyage is a six-day cruise to Athens, Greece, featuring stops at notable Eastern Mediterranean destinations such as Rijeka, Croatia; Ravenna, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro. Following its Mediterranean season, Allura will sail to North America for immersive voyages across Canada and New England before going to the Caribbean, homeporting in Miami. Allura will offer a unique four-day roundtrip voyage from New York City in September 2025.
Allura is the eighth vessel in the Oceania Cruises fleet and the second 1,200-guest Allura Class ship, following the highly acclaimed Vista, which launched in May 2023.
