To encourage responsible exploration of the reef, the hotel provides guests with complimentary snorkeling equipment and essential information on how to safely reach the reef during high tide from the Reef Education Center. Guests are encouraged to snorkel and kayak only during high tide to minimize impact on the fragile ecosystem and to exercise caution when swimming with long flippers to avoid accidental damage to coral formations.

encouraged to explore the wonders of the intertidal area during low tide, a beautiful wonder filled with underwater creatures. The intertidal zone is a challenging habitat where inhabitants must adapt to changing tides, drying out, waves, and predators. Only the most adaptable creatures thrive in this dynamic environment, which also marks the beginning of our house reef. During low tide, explore “ROCK” to see various marine creatures like baby moray eels, crabs, snails, baby fish, and brittle stars. Collaborating with the Love Wildlife Foundation, we invite guests to join the Merlin House Reef Conservation Initiative. This unique program combines education with interactive participation. Knowledgeable guides reveal the reef’s secrets, from coral life cycles to its crucial role in marine biodiversity.
