Pimalai Creates Green Season Getaways With Eco-Sensitive Excursions In Koh Lanta

Pimalai Resort & Spa, the iconic five-star retreat, is showcasing more of the wonders of Koh Lanta this green season, with a choice of two new enchanting excursions on land and at sea. While much of Mu Ko Lanta National Park will be off-limits to tourists from 16th May to 14th October 2021, for the important annual closure to restore the environment, Pimalai has created a pair of exclusive eco-sensitive itineraries that highlight some of the finest attractions that remain open in and around the island.

Ideal for families and groups of friends seeking an idyllic weekend escape, the Koh Ngai Fun Day excursion operates every Saturday. Koh Ngai is still a hidden gem in Trang province, and this day trip gives guests the chance to discover this mesmerising marine environment. After a scenic boat ride from Pimalai, visitors can bask in the bliss of swimming in the crystal clear seas, followed by lunch on the beach and a leisurely journey back to the resort.

This immersive excursion runs from 09.00 to 15.30 hrs every Saturday and is priced at just THB 1,800 per person, based on a minimum of six people.

Alternatively, the Talabeng Scenic Cruise & Lunch at the Old Town excursion encompasses Pimalai’s most breath-taking natural and manmade marvels. Having set off from Pimalai by boat, guests will cruise around Koh Talabeng, which soars 70 metres from the turquoise waters. Travellers will have the opportunity to kayak around the island and explore dramatic caves, before they return to uncover Koh Lanta’s rich heritage. Strolling through the peaceful streets of the Old Town, an authentic fishing port, visitors can call in at family-run cafés and tour the excellent Community Museum at their own pace. For lunch, Pimalai recommends Shine Talay, a local restaurant that specialises in fresh seafood.

This delightful day trip also runs from 09.00 to 15.30 hrs and is priced at only THB 1,800 per person. A minimum of four people are required per trip. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Nestled in 100 acres of lush jungle, cascading gently down to a 900-metre-long white sandy beach, Pimalai is a haven of tranquility and world-class facilities where city-dwellers can escape their daily lives, unwind in paradise and rediscover traditional Thai hospitality. Now, residents can double their time in this tropical utopia with a tempting “two-for-one” offer! Those who self-drive or fly-drive to Pimalai (with car rental available at Krabi Airport) will receive one free night for every paid night in a choice of stylish rooms, spacious suites and luxurious villas. For example, a two-night break will be offered for the price of one night, a four-night retreat is available for the price of two nights, and guests who book a two-week vacation will pay for only seven nights!

Rates start from just THB 4,350 for two nights in a Deluxe Room, including breakfast for two people, valid from 10th May to 30th September 2021. A wide range of other suites and pool villas are also available.

“Ever since Pimalai opened 20 years ago, we have strived to protect Mu Ko Lanta National Park. The annual six-month closure of this pristine ecosystem is vital, as it prevents over-tourism and allows marine life and coral reefs to flourish. During the green season, we are delighted to invite our guests to enjoy a choice of responsible and sustainable new excursions to locations that we are still permitted to visit. We consider it is our mission to showcase the full depth of Koh Lanta’s charms and attractions; with these two exclusive packages – which are only available from Pimalai – we hope to create exciting and enthralling experiences that will live long in the memory,” said Patrice Landrein, Pimalai’s General Manager.

Pimalai operates a fleet of seven boats, all skippered by professional captains who have a deep knowledge of the local area.
