Regional Fresh Fruit Cocktails Inspire at Up & Above Bar

The creative mixologists at Up & Above Bar have fashioned three refreshing cocktails using the best seasonal fruits from Thailand’s provinces blended with premium Thai, Japanese and Cuban spirits. The Ratchaburi Mango is a heady mix of Havana rum, fresh Ok-rong mango, bael syrup and fresh lime. Soft ripe Ok-rong is popularly eaten with sticky rice and loved for its fragrance and sweetness. It is grown in various areas in central Thailand. However, best known for of its taste is the Ok-rong mango from Damneonsadoek in Ratchaburi province. It is relatively rare and only available from April to early June. Also exotically refreshing is the Miss Nakornpathom, a zesty mix of Phaya premium Thai rum, fresh Kaownampueng pomelo, orange and lime juice, pandan syrup and Shiraz red wine. Nakornpathom province is known for its tasty pomelo and the sweet Kaownampueng variety blends well with the Phaya rum. Finally, the Queen of Lychee stars fresh kom-homlamjieak lychee combined with Rugu gin, Martini Rosso, marmalade jam and lime. Unique for its sweet, dry, vivid flesh, the delicious Kom-homlamjieak lychee is grown in the Amphawa district of Samutsongkram – Thailand’s smallest province – between April and early June. Its fruitful character blends well with gin.
