Savour A Spicy Cultural Adventure at Tiffin by La Sala

Recently, MICHELIN Guide revealed the 2023 selections in Thailand, highlighting the best restaurants in the Kingdom and Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas is delighted to receive recognition once again for Tiffin by La Sala. 

Unlike most restaurant ratings MICHELIN created the selections guide to help travellers and food lovers from around the world to make an informed choice from among high-quality options.  

Tiffin by La Sala is no ordinary Indian restaurant – it is without a doubt located in one of the most beautiful lagoon settings – perched picturesquely over a pink lotus lagoon filled with colourful, exotic koi. The interiors are cool and scenic with an open plan, glass enclosed kitchen providing an idyllic venue for family celebrations and romantic dinners. 

The restaurant owes much of its success to its amazing Indian chefs who skillfully concoct the elevated Indian dishes created from specially selected ingredients and include authentic staples like Tikka Masala, Vindaloo and Rogan Josh but also feature standouts such as Tandoori Salmon Steak with a  spicy fish and coconut moilee gravy and Mahi Fish Tikka – yogurt marinated snow fish cooked in mustard oil, chilies and carom seeds and served with an onion salad and mint chutney. There is also an array of vegetarian dishes including paneer Multani and Yellow Dal Tadka – which consists of dal cooked with tomato, onion and garlic roasted cumin seeds.

Dinner wouldn’t be complete without savoury Indian sweets like Gulab Jamun with carrot pudding. These deep fried milk balls soaked in rose flavoured sugar syrup are the stuff of dreams, as is the Saffron Pistachio Kulfi – homemade saffron, pistachio, almond and cardamom ice-cream. Yum!
