Spring Picnic

The “Spring Picnic” Exhibition is a Korean “Sumuk”, or ink painting exhibition, the classical genre of fine art in East Asia. Korean Sumuk exhibition that uses traditional Korean materials and techniques, such as Hanji (Korean traditional paper), brush, Korean ink, and coloring.

It has become popularized and recognized as one of the main cultural contents of Asian Art. It is a common cultural heritage of various Asian countries and is recently drawing attention in the art field. Sumuk differs vastly from Western painting in terms of materials, techniques and objectives, as well as in its emphasis on expressions of the artist’s mentality and the importance placed on voids and lines.

This exhibition introduces artworks with the theme of spring, which represents the most beautiful scenery of the four seasons in Korea and exhibits Korean apricot flower painting, beautiful landscape paintings, peacock, and other masters of the nature by Korean artist YE Hyang, who has been living in Thailand more than 20 years.

Also, this exhibition is an opportunity to appreciate not only paintings but also calligraphy works, and the charm of various Korean Sumuk paintings.
