St. Regis Bangkok Welcomes Master of Whiskey

The St. Regis Bangkok is delighted to announce the appointment of Ivan Zabolotnyi as the new Beverage Manager, responsible for overseeing the hotel’s overall beverage offerings, especially at The St. Regis Bar. Ivan brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for delivering unparalleled guest experiences from his extensive background in luxury hotels in the Middle East. Recognized as the Master of Whiskey, Ivan is passionate about crafting innovative beverage programs with a focus on storytelling, local ingredients, and creative garnish. He is also introducing his passion towards whiskey through the latest exquisite “The Highball” – menu inspired by classic Whiskey Highball cocktail that has been an essential drink for a fabulous cocktail party in New York since early 1900’s. Available at The St. Regis Bar for all whiskey enthusiasts.

Prior to joining The St. Regis Bangkok, Ivan showcased his expertise in prominent establishments across the Middle East and Ukraine, most recently at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn in Muscat, Oman. There, he successfully led the beverage department, overseeing operations and developing unique beverage programs across a complex of three hotels comprising 640 rooms and 15 F&B outlets. Ivan was previously an integral part of the pre-opening team of the first JW Marriott in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also spent more than five years at Armani Hotel Dubai and left later as the Bar Manager.

At The St. Regis Bangkok, he is tasked with elevating the art of drinking through the innovative bar program, which pays homage to the glamour of the original House of Astor. Ivan will lead the traditions around the art of drinking which initially began in 1932 at the famed King Cole Bar at The St. Regis New York, known as the birthplace of the iconic Bloody Mary cocktail. Our luminary guests can find him working closely with our talented bartenders during “The Violet Hour,” a daily ritual at The St. Regis Bangkok to celebrate the end of the day and the beginning of the evening, making a daily event of leaving work behind for the possibilities of the night.
