Summer Sensations at Michelin Plate Restaurant Yamazato

Throughout August Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara and his team at The Okura Prestige Bangkok’s signature Japanese restaurant Yamazato are serving up seasonal treats with special summer Gozen lunch platters and Kaiseki dinner.

The two Gozen lunch platters encompass traditionally prepared soup, sashimi, tempura and grilled and simmered dishes featuring a range of ingredients associated with the time of year, particularly premium seafood and refreshing summer garnishes. The first platter includes offerings such as octopus, shrimp and suisho eggplant with edamame, and a succulent sashimi course of tuna, surf clam and yellowtail. Stars of the second platter include grilled moonfish with a zesty tomato sauce, and a simmered dish of chilled duck with taro, carrot and consommé mustard sauce.

Stand-out offerings on the Kaiseki dinner are two dishes with highly prized eel and sweet fish as the main ingredients which is a soup of Naruto deep-fried sweet fish with mushroom, grated radish and a touch of yuzu, and a simmered dish of eel with sansho, sweet potato, okra, eggplant, baby corn and carrot. The dinner menu is rounded out with a grilled surf and turf course of Spanish mackerel and beef with spicy garlic sauce.
