Swensen’s (Thai) Ltd. says positive feedback on ice-cream cake continues to grow . The most recent data shows sales growth of 25% on 2020.
To reinforce its position as a leader in the premium ice-cream cake market, Swensen’s has launched its ‘Cake Carnival’ marketing campaign and, for the first time in 35 years, revealed five new kinds of ice-cream cake, including Triple Flavour, Ultimate Chocolate and Strawberry Delight, all of which derive from all-time favourite flavours. Swensen’s expects to increase its sales by at least 30% in 2022 through 300 branches nationwide, and is considered Thailand’s largest ice-cream retailer.
Mr Anupon Nitiyanant, General Manager of Swensen’s (Thai) Ltd., a subsidiary of The Minor Food Group Plc., revealed that for the first time in 35 years, Swensen’s, a leader in the premium ice-cream cake market, has laid out a proactive strategy to reinforce its three decades of leadership by releasing five new signature ice-cream cakes decorated with premium quality toppings, while preserving the familiar taste of signature ice-cream flavours. This is to deliver the “Everyday Reward” idea that every day is special –, and customers can celebrate every special occasion with an ice-cream cake from Swensen’s. This concept targets various market segments such as kids, teenagers or families. Recently, Swensen’s sales have grown by 25% from 2020 or 50% on the same period in 2019. Swensen’s success has come from its pricing strategy that is affordable for every target segment, active development of product quality, and unique creation of cake for every occasion through various distribution channels.
The five revamped ice-cream cakes are Triple Flavour – a signature vanilla ice-cream cake of chocolate, vanilla and very strawberry ice-cream; Ultimate Chocolate – a rich chocolate cake of chocolate and almond with vanilla and chocolate ice-cream; Chocolate Cookie and Cream – a thinly sliced chocolate cake of cookie and cream and vanilla ice-cream; Mocha Paradiso – a thinly sliced vanilla cake of vanilla and rich mocha ice-cream topped with chocolate flake and almond; and Strawberry Delight – a thinly sliced vanilla cake of red velvet cream, strawberry and tender vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry and milk chocolate.
“Swensen’s now has 300 branches nationwide. Over recent years, Swensen’s has been able to actively maintain a customer base, despite Covid-19. For the upcoming year-end, as a result of the reopening of the country under the governmental policy allowing important occasions and celebrations, it is predicted that consumption will increase and this year’s growth will be higher than expected. Swensen’s has been able to turn adversity into opportunity, and the growth of cake sales via delivery channels tripled from the previous year,” concluded Mr Anupon.
In addition to spreading joy and happiness during special moments of celebration and the New Year, Swensen’s has organized “Celebrate the Legends” by decorating its branch at Central Plaza Pinklao, the biggest branch with the highest sales, under the concept “Cake Carnival”. It has transformed a regular ice-cream outlet into a carnival offering joy and amazing experiences to customers. This includes a host of ice-cream cakes for customers to enjoy the legendary taste of all-time favourite ice-cream cakes, and experience the five new revamped cakes that will surely become legendary in the future. The “Cake Carnival” is now ready for everyone to join the celebration and experience the incredible moment from today until 3 January 2022 at Swensen’s, Central Plaza Pinklao only.
