Tenzin Yangzom: Bhutan’s Hospitality Luminary!

Assumption University in ThailandBhutan-born Tenzin Yangzom has been drawing considerable attention for her excellent progression in hospitality management. This journey began in her homeland and has now reached the esteemed halls of Assumption University in Thailand. Tenzin’s metamorphosis into a future tourism industry leader is as remarkable as inspiring.

A chance encounter with the world of hospitality, aiding her aunt in the hotel industry, completely redirected Tenzin’s initial aspiration of being a flight attendant. Her newfound fascination with the complexities of hotel operations prompted her to pivot towards the domain of hospitality management. Her quest for knowledge led her to Assumption University, where she is now pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree focusing on Hotel and Tourism Management.

Assumption University’s nurturing atmosphere, committed to academic excellence and industry relevance, fosters a community that empowers Tenzin and her peers. This engaging learning environment is integral to her academic journey, equipping her with the necessary skills and know-how for a thriving career in the hospitality industry.

Tenzin attributes much of her success to her family, whose unwavering support is her primary motivation. She also strongly advocates personal development and self-care, believing that maintaining a positive mindset and nurturing one’s self-worth is crucial for growth.

Despite the demands of her academic pursuits, Tenzin indulges in dance, a liberating medium of self-expression and enjoyment for her. Though she humbly refers to herself as a beginner, she is eager to embrace this art form and step outside her comfort zone.

Those around Tenzin have been quick to recognize her transformative journey. Confronting and overcoming self-esteem issues, she has carved a path of self-discovery that has renewed her confidence, inspiring her fellow students and faculty.

Tenzin finds inspiration in the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, especially his profound words, “When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways- either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.” She firmly believes in the latter, utilizing challenges to unearth her inner strength and resilience, allowing her to surmount obstacles and evolve stronger.

Should her life’s journey be encapsulated in a book, it would aptly be titled “Decisions and Choices: What if?” This headline perfectly sums up her narrative, underpinned by bold decision-making and an incessant pursuit of growth on both personal and professional fronts.

As Tenzin looks forward, she is filled with ambitious dreams. She plans to earn a master’s degree within the next decade, propelling her to a prominent role in her career. In twenty years, she envisions establishing her own successful enterprise, ensuring financial stability for herself and her family. And ultimately, in forty years, she foresees a quiet retirement, reminiscing about a life filled with accomplishments and surrounded by the love of her family.
