Thai Airways Academy Receives World Class Standardization and Partners with Thailand Post on Personnel Development

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), Personnel Development & Training Department (Thai Airways Academy), held a ceremony to accept ISO 29993: 2017- Learning Services Outside Formal Education and IATA Accredited Training School (ATS) certification.  THAI signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Personnel Development with Thailand Post Company Limited (Thailand Post), which reflects the strength of Thai Airways Academy and forms a new partnership for collaboration on personnel development for cargo services in Thailand.  Mrs. Suvimol Bualerd, THAI Executive Vice President, Human Resources, and Ms. Suchada Buddharuksa, Thailand Post Senior Executive Vice President, Marketing, signed the MoU on Personnel Development. Mrs. Theerasin Saengrungsri, THAI Vice President, Corporate Image & Communications Department, Mr. Cherdphan Chotikhun, THAI Vice President, Personnel Development & Training, Mr. Bandit Kaewpukum, Thailand Post Vice President, Personnel Development Department, guests of honor, members of Management and staff witnessed the signing ceremony at THAI Headquarters.

Mr. Cherdphan Chotikhun, THAI Vice President, Personnel Development & Training, said that this year (2019), the Personnel Development & Training Department (Thai Airways Academy) received the ISO 29993: 2017 – Learning Services Outside Formal Education-Service Requirement from United Registrar of Systems (Thailand) Limited (URS), which makes it an international standardized training center for occupational studies as well as internal and external training. Training is conducted through in-class sessions, technological-based learning, and a mix of both. Receiving an ISO 29993 raises the quality of the Personnel Development & Training Department and Thai Airways Academy to become a World Class Training Center by prioritizing learners’ benefits: information clarity in learning, transparency arrangement, credibility,capable of service the needs in a new modern education market, and with students as the knowledge center. These are conform to THAI’s policy to continually increase employee knowledge and to develop skills necessary to work in the aviation industry.

THAI Personnel Development & Training Department and Thai Airways Academy were also certified by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour, as a training division for the positions of Chief and Management. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) also certified Thai Airways Academy to be an IATA Accredited Training School (IATA-ATS) for cargo and dangerous goods, ranging from basic knowledge to management systems, in compliance with safety laws.
