Thai Vietjet Launches Bangkok – Taipei from USD99

Thai Vietjet today celebrated the inaugural flight of its new international service connecting Bangkok and Taipei, with the welcome ceremony at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, on August 18, 2022.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said,  We are delighted to launch another new international flight service, which connects Bangkok with the beautiful city of Taipei, one of the top destinations for Thai travelers, not long after the Covid-19 pandemic has been put under better control.  Today, international tourism is rapidly rebounding. Thai Vietjet is proactively expanding our network to various major destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, providing international travelers with excellent, hospitable, but affordable service, as well as with the highest level of safety throughout their journeys. This would definitely help bring back travelers to both sides also, positively contributing to the tourism recovery.”

At the start, due to limited capacity quota in Taiwan, the new international service from Bangkok to Taipei will operate 1 flight a week on every Thursday, with more frequency to be added subject to the region’s ease of travel restriction. The flight duration is 3 hours 45 minutes, following below flight schedule:

Flight

Origin Destination Departure Arrival Days of Operation
VZ562 Bangkok Taipei 09:55 14:40 Thursday
VZ563 Taipei Bangkok 15:40 18:25

To celebrate the inauguration of the new international service, the airline is also launching a special promotion – Deluxe Super Sale – offering special deluxe fares starting from USD 99 (THB 3,499) (inclusive of taxes, fees, and surcharges) for traveling on Thai Vietjet’s new international service between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) – Taipei (Taoyuan). The special deluxe service includes 20 kg of checked baggage, free seat selection, priority check-in and flexibility with unlimited flight changes at no charge. This special promotion is available for booking from 25 – 31 August 2022, with a travel period from September 15, 2022 – March 25, 2023 (terms and conditions applied).

In addition, to mark the inaugural flight between Bangkok and Taipei, Thai Vietjet has teamed up with AIS 5G, which is the number 1 digital life service provider in Thailand, offering seamless communication services, including access to the most wide-ranging and reliable networks throughout the world. AIS 5G is offering all passengers on the inaugural flight a SIM2Fly 5G Asia-Australia Pack Roaming Sim Card to access this world-renowned network for just 399 baht. The sim offers roaming services in a total of 32 countries and, most importantly, the SIM2Fly 5G card offers 5G services abroad, too. The Asia-Australia pack in particular provides access to 5G services in 15 countries, to ensure new customers can experience the fastest and most reliable internet signal there has ever been. The sim also comes with 6GB of data for use over a 10-day period, as well as 500MB of data for use within Thailand.

Currently, passengers entering Thailand are no longer required to possess a certificate of testing for a negative COVID-19 result prior to entering the country or upon arrival. Passengers are also not required to quarantine upon arrival due to the removal of the ‘Test & Go’ scheme from 1 May 2022.

As the Fastest Growing Low-cost Carrier of the Year 2020 (awarded by Global Business Outlook Magazine, London), Thai Vietjet has continuously expanded its flight network, both domestic and international.  The airline has recently been awarded the ‘New Airline Award’ of the Changi Airline Award 2022 for commencing flight services to Changi Airport despite COVID-19, highlighting the airline’s contributions toward maintaining the resilience of the Singapore air hub during the pandemic.

Passengers can book Thai Vietjet air tickets for both domestic and international services at special rates from Vietjet Air’s website (www.vietjetair.com), the Vietjet Air mobile app, Facebook (www.facebook.com/VietJetThailand (“Booking” section)) and the airline’s global ticket agencies.  For more information or updates on flight schedules, visit www.vietjetair.com.
