Thai Vietjet successfully inaugurates Bangkok – Phu Quoc

Thai Vietjet today successfully commenced its maiden flight from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Phu Quoc (Vietnam), with a welcome ceremony at Phu Quoc International Airport, in presence of leaders and management of Kien Giang province, Phu Quoc city, airport and Thai Vietjet.

At Suvarnabhumi Airport, the first group of passengers was welcomed with special souvenirs from the airline. On the inaugural flight, Thai Vietjet cabin crew served Banh Mi, a traditional Vietnamese sandwich, to all passengers onboard, and had a special lucky draw for 2 prizes of a complimentary air ticket voucher. The flight was filled with a pleasant atmosphere and happiness.

The maiden flight VZ980 took off from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and safely landed at Phu Quoc International Airport, welcomed by a water salute and Lion Dance at the arrival terminal. The flight also has the honor to carry a group of Ambassadors in Thailand, led by Vietnamese Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh, together with major Thai business groups, to visit and work with Kien Giang local government for potential investment and cooperation opportunities. A group of travel companies, tour operators and bloggers from Thailand joined the trip held by Thai Vietjet and Vinpearl, who has been pioneering the development of tourism on Pearl Island, to explore the natural beauty of the island and its amazing tourism facilities of cable cars, theme parks, safari, cultural shows and many more.

In the early stage, the international flight service between Bangkok and Phu Quoc will operate 4 flights per week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with a flight duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes and the following flight schedule:

In addition, the passengers on the first flight from Phu Quoc (Vietnam) to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) were warmly welcomed at Suvarnabhumi Airport by Thai Vietjet management representative, as well as received a bag from MBK Center, Bangkok and a voucher that can be redeemable for Kanom Buang or Thai Crispy Pancake at MBK Center.

Vietnam has proven as one of the top tourist destinations in Asia-pacific, with its beautiful landscape and unique culture. Phu Quoc, in particular, is known as the largest island located in the south of Vietnam, with tropical and transparent turquoise water, a floating village, cable cars, a variety of nature, and rich culture. Bangkok, on the other hand, has a stunning view of the boat-filled Chao Phraya River, the spectacular Grand Palace, and numerous lively night markets.

In addition, Thai Vietjet, in cooperation with Vietjet Group, has operated stable flight services between Thailand and Vietnam: from Bangkok to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, together with flights from Phuket and Chiang Mai to Ho Chi Minh city.

Thai Vietjet is continuously expanding its flight network, both domestic and international while increasing its young and modern fleet.
