Thai Vietjet to Plant Trees under ‘Metro Forest’ Project

With a strong commitment to driving environmental and social sustainability, Thai Vietjet introduced its latest project ‘Metro Forest’, under Fly Green Fund, in collaboration with Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, inviting its passengers, members, students, and staffs to join hands planting a forest of 200 trees at Queen Sirikit 60th Anniversary Park, Bangkok.

The ‘Metro Forest’ project originates from the airline’s environmental fund ‘Fly Green Fund’, which has been established since early 2021 with the ultimate goal to support Seub Nakhasathien Foundation’s environmental preservation activities to protect the forest and endangered wildlife throughout Thailand.

The core idea of the ‘Metro Forest’ project is to increase more green areas in the urban cities in Thailand, starting with its capital city of Bangkok.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said: “Thai Vietjet has made continuous contribution to the sustainability of environmental protection, such as reducing pollution from daily operations and implementing numerous environmental protection measures that lessen the root causes of the global warming issue that humanity has been facing with. Today, with the introduction of Metro Forest project to increase the green space in the urban areas in Thailand, we believe that we will be able to continue our mission to save the earth, which is the primary goal of Fly Green Fund”

Mr. Sasin Chalermlarp, President of Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, said“Our planet has been experiencing significant changes in the past decades. We are delighted to cooperate with Thai Vietjet and work together toward the sustainability of the environment. Under Thai Vietjet’s Fly Green Fund, we believe that we will be able to continue our primary mission to environment situation focus on climate change, sixth extinction, reduced biodiversity, and wild animal protection.”

Since the establishment of the Fly Green Fund, Thai Vietjet has consistently been carrying out a wide range of environmental projects and activities, including ‘Garbage Hunter’ – a project with the purpose of removing garbage from various locations in Thailand, and ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Day’ – the first charity golf tournament under Fly Green Fund.

Fly Green Fund was established in 2021 with the ultimate goal of supporting Seub Nakhasathien Foundation’s environmental activities to continue safeguarding, preserving, and defending the forest and the endangered animals.
