This monumental achievement, announced during the AIPH’s Spring Meeting 2024 in Doha, Qatar, is poised to catapult the Kingdom into the global spotlight as a pioneering force in sustainable horticulture and eco-conscious innovation.

The Korat Expo 2029, slated to unfold from November 10, 2029, to February 28, 2030, in the historic city of Nakhon Ratchasima, promises to be an extraordinary spectacle. Envisioned as an A1-level extravaganza, this horticultural celebration is expected to attract a staggering 2.6 to 4 million visitors, captivating audiences from around the globe with its awe-inspiring displays and thought-provoking exhibits.

Themed “Nature and Greenery: Envisioning the Green Future,” the Expo will serve as a vibrant platform to showcase Thailand’s natural marvels, cultural diversity, and cutting-edge expertise in sustainable horticultural and agricultural technologies. This immersive experience will transport attendees into a world where innovation and tradition converge, inspiring a profound appreciation for the intricate balance between human ingenuity and environmental preservation.

Drawing inspiration from Thailand’s previous successful hosting of the horticultural expo in Chiang Mai in 2006 – an event that garnered a coveted gold medal for outstanding achievement – the Korat Expo 2029 is poised to surpass all expectations. The impeccable Thai delegation, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Nakhon Ratchasima province, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), delivered a compelling presentation that captured the essence of Thailand’s vision for a prosperous, eco-conscious society.

Ambassador Sira Swangsilpa, leading the Thai delegation, underscored the Royal Thai Government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring the resounding success of the Korat Expo 2029. “Nakhon Ratchasima province, locally known as ‘Korat,’ serves as a gateway to the northeastern region, boasting historical significance, agricultural prowess, and rich biodiversity,” he affirmed, highlighting the strategic location’s unique strengths.

Rapibhat Chandarasrivongs, Director General of the Department of Agriculture, emphasized Thailand’s strategic focus on agricultural and horticultural advancement as a fundamental pillar of the national strategy. “The Korat Expo will serve as an international platform to showcase inventive horticultural methods that seamlessly blend contemporary technologies with traditional wisdom, paving the way for a greener future,” he declared optimistically.

Nakhon Ratchasima’s Governor, Sayam Sirimongkol, expressed the city’s readiness to welcome global visitors. He showcased Thailand’s cultural richness intertwined with its vision for a greener, more sustainable future. “The Expo will revolutionize our cityscape, positioning Korat as a model city for green innovation,” he declared with conviction.

Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, highlighted the enduring legacy and economic benefits expected from the Expo, aligning perfectly with AIPH’s core values of championing a prosperous industry that enhances lives, advances societies, and sustains our planet for generations to come. “Korat Expo 2029 is primed to be a milestone event, driving substantial economic, social, and environmental gains,” he affirmed, extending gratitude to the various stakeholders, including the Horticultural Science Society of Thailand, Nakhonratchasima Chamber of Commerce, The Federation of Thai Industries, Nakhon Ratchasima Chapter, Tourism Council of Nakhon Ratchasima, Khao Yai Tourism Association, Nakhonratchasima Rajabhat University, and the private sector in the province.

With the prestigious Korat Expo 2029 on the horizon, Thailand stands poised to cement its position as a global leader in sustainable development and eco-friendly initiatives.
