The Federation of Thai Industries launches “FTI Expo 2022” with the goal of promoting the circular economy and boosting Thailand’s industry. With Huawei exhibiting application of 5G cloud and digital power, upgrading Thailand’s industry to ‘Industry 4.0’

The Federation of Thai Industries joined hand with leading enterprises, organizing ‘FTI Expo 2022 – Shaping the Future Industry for Stronger Thailand to show potential and enhance the industry sector under the concept “BIO-CIRCULAR_GREEN ECONOMY (BCG Economy) in order to accept the government’s policy of opening the country and implement a big change in the industry at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Center from June 29 to July 3, 2022.

The event is also honored by the Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, visiting an innovation booth showcasing Huawei Technology, welcomed by Mr. Jay Chen, Vice President of Huawei Asia Pacific. The booth also demonstrated Huawei support to push the adoption of 5G, cloud and digital power in Thailand, accelerating the industrial sector’s recovery after COVID-19, and focusing on green manufacturing.

Mr. Kriengkrai Thiennukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries, said that “This event is a collaboration between 45 industries in 76 provinces of Thailand. Now, the world is currently dealing with a variety of challenges. One of them is the disruption caused by digital transformation, which the Thai industrial sector is constantly attempting to avoid by adapting to the 11 new S-Curve industries to become more efficient, lean, and digitalize. For example, the automotive sector in Thailand has to adapt to EVs vehicles in order to keep up with the global trends. For FTI, we have developed four strategies to move the Thai industry sector forward: Industry Collaboration; Next Gen Industry; Smart SMEs that adopt digital & innovation; and smart service platform with digitalized service for industry sector. I would like to express my gratitude to Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-O-cha for the honor of attending the FTI Expo 2022, including all the collaboration and support from public and private sectors that helped organize this event successfully.”

Dr. Chawapol Jariyawiroj, President of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said: “The main goal of Huawei in this collaboration is to help push 5G technology, the cloud and digital power in Thailand’s manufacturing sector, with example use cases of technology applications as well as promoting smart manufacturing with 5G technology to upgrade Thailand’s manufacturing sector to ‘Industry 4.0’, and to suggest ways to enhance Thailand’s technology.”

“At ‘FTI Expo 2022’, Huawei will exhibit in three major categories. The first is 5G Solutions, which will highlight the implementation of 5G technology to support the smart manufacturing sector, smart transportation sector, and smart equipment monitoring sector. The Huawei Cloud technology exhibition will help customers’ digitalization practices and provide Huawei Cloud services information to customers. Finally, the digital energy exhibition will showcase smart PV & ESS solutions in order to support digitalization; residential smart PV solutions for household use; high-performance DC charging modules for electric vehicles; and power sites – including ICT data center solutions to be greener, safer, and more efficient,” Dr. Chawapol added.

“Huawei Cloud could be adopted to apply in the field of automatic sorting in production lines, especially AI recognition and image recognition functions from artificial intelligence. Huawei Data Center Facility solutions can provide secure and efficient IT while reducing the time to market. Huawei Fusion Solar (PV) provides visualized and intelligent PV power generation management solutions for manufacturing, and the PV solution has been widely used in Thailand’s manufacturing sector to help companies significantly reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions.”

He continued: “Modern industrial requirements have become diverse and customized to improve competitiveness, which the old silo architecture could not quickly adjust to. The application of 5G technology will create advantages from wider mobility, higher bandwidth, lower latency and stability – also, more security and reliability, which is an ideal advantage for manufacturing, mining and port industries. The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Thailand has already applied 5G technology in various industries, such as steelmaking, where 5G is used in remote work due to its high bandwidth, low latency, and mobility. It can improve the working environment and working efficiency. Or for unmanned factories, the extensive application of IoT and AI technology helps to avoid large-scale gatherings of workers and reduces the risk of COVID-19 infection. In addition, during the pandemic, Siriraj, DBMS and MOPH hospital joined with Huawei to develop the ASEAN 1st 5G + F5G + Cloud Powered smart hospital with a cloud-based unified management system, and secure 5G private network. Innovative medical applications were introduced to minimize patient overflow and reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.”
