A place to foster meaningful human connections, Tinder today launched a month-long Pride celebration in Thailand to recognise the diversity and passion amongst the young LGBTQIA+ community in the country.
Tinder is highlighting Thai LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs through a unique collaboration with Airbnb in Thailand. As Thai Gen Z look more for activity-based first dates, three members of the Thai LGBTQIA+ community will be hosting one-off Airbnb Experiences throughout June that celebrate diversity and the local LGBTQIA+ community and inviting everyone to connect with pride. Thai Tinder members will see in-app Swipe Cards on Tinder highlighting the Experiences. Members can use the Swipe Right™ feature which will take them to www.connectwithpride.co where they can explore these available Experiences, and click through to book them directly on Airbnb.
The special series of Tinder X Airbnb Experiences comprises The Secret to Winning the Director’s Heart hosted by popular Thai director Bundit “Tee” Sintanaparadee, Birthday Cake Bling with Chef Deaw hosted by celebrity chef Komsun “Deaw” Wongsa, and Jazz Funk with Sophie hosted by choreographer and dancer Marguerite “Sophie” Indracusin.
Apart from the above and aiming to represent and celebrate the progressive momentum for the LGBTQIA+ community in Thailand, the Pride Wave at centralwOrld in Bangkok is an installation seven meters in length and more than three meters high. Inspired by the 2018 Progress Pride Flag and designed in consultation with APCOM, an Asia-Pacific not-for-profit advocacy for equality, the colors of the Pride Wave represent an empowering and inclusive society where everyone is included and will be in place from June 1-30.

Recognising young Thai adults are in a diverse and fluid range of relationships, Tinder empowers its members with choice and has available 30 different gender identities and nine sexual orientations in the app. More recently, PRIDE has been added as an Interest and members can add it to their profile to join in the PRIDE celebrations and show support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Secret to Winning the Director’s Heart – Known for directing popular Boy’s Love TV programmes TharnType the Series, Lovely Writer and more, Host Bundit “Tee” Sintanaparadee will share tips on acting auditions, casting sessions and how to stand out to directors. “I believe everyone should have the same opportunity to follow their dreams. In collaborating with Tinder and hosting this Airbnb Experience, I hope to inspire those who have a love of entertainment and encourage them to be authentic and true to themselves.”
Birthday Cake Bling with Chef Deaw – Celebrity chef Komsun “Deaw” Wongsa, also known as The Patisserie Princess from his success on MasterChef Thailand Season 2, will be hosting a bakery workshop and sharing with guests how to make creative birthday cakes. “Careers should have no gender bias. Don’t let others tell you what you should or shouldn’t do – I say that whatever it is you love, then do it and be true to yourself. By sharing what I love through this Tinder and Airbnb collaboration I hope to embolden others to follow their passions.”
Jazz Funk with Sophie – Popular choreographer and dancer, Marguerite “Sophie” Indracusin will introduce guests to Jazz Funk and teach them techniques in a fun, step-by-step workshop. “I’m excited to be an Airbnb Host and share my love of dance with others. While I hope guests enjoy the Experience, I also hope that it helps to build personal confidence and enable people to believe in themselves more, and perhaps even spark others to share their passions too.”
