Topgolf Megacity’s 1st Anniversary Bash!

Topgolf Megacity, the one-of-a-kind sports and entertainment complex in Bangkok, has successfully introduced its modern golf entertainment experience to the Thai market and recorded a solid 1st year performance.

It’s first year saw more than 6 million balls hit – contributing to Topgolf’s global goal to hit 50 billion golf balls by 2025.

Topgolf Megacity has dramatically grown brand awareness during its first year, showcasing its engaging game technology, delicious food & beverage offer, fully equipped meeting spaces, and five-star service that makes up the Topgolf Experience. This unique setup, the vibe, the amazing food, drinks, great music and over 300 TV screens put the game itself at the center of the party.

“With a mission to introduce more people to a new way to play golf, the Topgolf Megacity experience makes golf more accessible for everyone by making games fun and playable for all, regardless of skill-level. During Topgolf Megacity’s first year, more than two-thirds of players considered themselves non-golfers, and were split almost evenly between female and male players. Topgolf’s variety of game formats are designed to appeal to all ages, and particularly designed to attract new players; about half of Topgolf Megacity’s guests are between 20- and 35-years old. This demonstrates Topgolf’s appeal to new players and should result in sustainable future growth for Topgolf and the game of golf in Thailand.” said Tim Boda, Managing Director, Topgolf Thailand.

“Corporate events have been an important catalyst for introducing new players to Topgolf as it is a one stop shop for team building days, corporate meetings, product launches, and year-end parties. With 102 golf-hitting bays that can accommodate up to 6 players per bay, five unique bars and restaurants, a Topgolf academy, spacious meeting space, and the best 18-hole minigolf course in Bangkok, the venue can accommodate any size of B2B or B2C event, hosting from 12 to 1,200 guests. In addition to the game-playing areas, event groups can utilize any of the bars and restaurants and our well-equipped meeting rooms. In-house organizers, MCs, coaches, and entertainers are also available, making Topgolf Megacity the new event hotspot in town.” Tim added.

At Topgolf Megacity, corporate events account for about one-third of the business, and the single largest corporate group in its first year saw 5,000 participants attend over four days. During the first year business sectors including automotive, pharmaceutical, financial institutions and manufacturing visited Topgolf Megacity. Event packages start from 990 Baht per participant.

 

After a successful first year, Topgolf Megacity plans to keep its momentum going, and the second half of 2023 is filled with fun activations. From 14 to 20 August, customers have the chance to play for free as part of the anniversary lucky draw. During this period every customer visiting Topgolf Megacity takes a lucky draw to see if they have to pay their bill – or if Topgolf pays, no matter the size of the bill. For the rest of the year, the event calendar from September to December is fun-filled with mini concerts, sports viewing on the largest screen in Bangkok, golf tournaments, visiting celebrity chefs, and much more, all building up to the return of the famous Golden Ball activity throughout December with daily lucky prices totaling more than 2.5 million Baht in value.

Play More! Building on the success of Topgolf Megacity, Topgolf’s second venue in Southeast Asia is under construction in Jakarta, scheduled to welcome players during late 2024. Topgolf is also actively working to develop future venue opportunities in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam.
