Traveloka celebrates 4th Year of Strategic Partnership with Japan Airlines (JAL) – recent winner of World’s Best Economy Class Airlines and Best Economy Class Seat Awards and World’s Best Economy Class Award

Traveloka, a leading travel & lifestyle experiences booking platform and one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Southeast Asia, recently joined Japan Airlines (JAL) in co-hosting a 4th year partnership celebration in Bangkok.

The ceremony was held to commemorate the success of a strategic partnership between Traveloka and JAL, which has steadily evolved from ticket-only bookings to its current mix of complementary packages and services including, Flights+Hotels and Xperience in Japan as well as airport transfers.

Attendees at the ceremony were presented with personalized tours of JAL’s Boeing 777-200ER aircraft configured with JAL Sky Suite, its full-flat Business Class seat, and the award-winning Sky Wider Economy Class seat and the Sakura Business Class Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport with live presentations displaying JAL’s best in class SKY WIDER seating, culinary treats, amenities and services. In 2019, JAL was awarded by customers for featuring the World`s Best Economy Class and the World`s Best Economy Class Seat at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards Ceremony held in Paris, France. The ceremony was hosted by London-based airline industry rating and consulting company, Skytrax. Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the survey with 21.65 million eligible entries counted in the results.

The strength and durability of the Traveloka-JAL partnership is measured in multiple ways and milestones that reflect the transition from its Initial offer of single, ticket-only transactions to today’s multiple products and packaged offerings. Traveloka continues to lead the market with its status as the first and only online platform that integrates travel related booking services including, for travelers to Japan among other popular destinations, flights, accommodations, airport transport ( including pick-up and drop-off services) train tickets and also engaging attractions and activities that complete every traveler’s entire experience.

In 2018, according to Nippon.com, a new record number of 31.2 million people visited Japan, an increase of 8.7% in comparison to the previous year, with trends indicating that a target of 40 million visitors will be achieved by 2020. A record number of more than 1 million Thais visited Japan in 2018 with this being the first time for a Southeast Asian country to achieve that figure.
