TRAVEX 2024 Sparks Historic ASEAN Tourism Boom!

TRAVEX 2024 Ignites ASEAN Tourism Revolution with Historic ForumIn an unprecedented stride towards the future of regional tourism, the ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA) heralds the launch of the Travel Exhibition (TRAVEX) at the prestigious ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. This landmark event, endorsed by the Lao PDR’s Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, celebrates ASEANTA’s commitment to growth and marks a pivotal chapter in ATF’s illustrious journey since 1981.

Eddy Krismeidi Soemawilaga, the visionary President of ASEANTA, articulates this epochal moment, “As we unveil TRAVEX, we’re not just opening doors to new opportunities but also revitalizing a legacy. Our collaboration with Lao PDR’s Government, MP Singapore, and Travel Weekly Asia sets a new standard for ATF.”

This remarkable organization reflects a synergy of efforts, especially with MP Singapore’s expertise in event organization and Travel Weekly Asia’s pivotal media role. The forum aims to transcend the challenges historically faced by ATF, focusing on enhanced consistency and impactful delivery.

Soemawilaga further emphasizes ASEANTA’s role as the vanguard of ASEAN’s tourism rejuvenation. “Our vision transcends immediate results. It’s about steady, meaningful progress. This year may not mirror ATF’s zenith, but it’s a bold step towards reshaping our tourism narrative,” he asserts.

The forum has garnered significant support from H.E. Madam Suanesavanh Vignaket, the Lao PDR’s Tourism Minister. Her appreciation of the collective effort underscores the shared commitment to reviving ASEAN’s tourism sector. “Hosting TRAVEX 2024 is a privilege. It’s a confluence of ideas and initiatives poised to sculpt the future of our region’s tourism,” she remarks.

TRAVEX 2024 boasts an impressive participation of 107 delegates and 101 co-delegates, including sellers from 105 companies across 34 booths. The event also welcomes 70 buyers, 26 media representatives, and 130 trade visitors, poised for a dynamic exchange of insights and opportunities.

Soemawilaga sheds light on TRAVEX’s core objective, “It’s more than an annual meet; it’s a crucible where ideas, industry trends, and strategic recommendations blend to accelerate ASEAN tourism.”

The forum’s reach extends with the ASEAN Tourism Conference, now a two-day event featuring 34 distinguished speakers. Centered around “Quality and Responsible Tourism – Sustaining ASEAN Future,” the conference aligns with global sustainability goals.

Concluding on an optimistic note, Soemawilaga expresses confidence in the revamped TRAVEX format. “These enhancements are not just additions; they’re catalysts for knowledge exchange and collaboration, vital for our industry’s evolution.”

ASEANTA’s gratitude to the Lao PDR Government, MP Singapore, and Travel Weekly Asia echoes a sentiment of trust and confidence in a collective vision, setting a precedent for the future of ASEAN tourism.
