USA & THE CARIBBEAN

Aman New York, USA
Aman’s newest urban sanctuary, the compelling energy of Aman New York culminates this festive season, with the hotel’s inaugural holiday and New Year celebrations. Guests are invited to experience this magical time of year, away from the bustle of the city’s streets below, and enraptured in festive fine-dining with winter cocktails and multi-course dinners, as well as seasonal stress-relieving treatments at the flagship Aman Spa. Entertainment for families includes fire-side storytelling on the year-round garden terrace, lessons in the Japanese art of furoshiki (gift wrapping) and nightly live music on the Crown Building’s 14th floor.

On New Year’s Eve, guests can immerse themselves in a musical extravaganza at The Jazz Club, hosted by Creative Director Brian Newman, a legendary musician and six-time Grammy Award nominee. Captivating acts will include a large energetic live band, performances from DJs Han Jiang and Jeremy Bastard, and enthralling special entertainment from aerialists, burlesque dancers and more. The Jazz Club’s first ever New Year’s Eve promises a one-of-a-kind subterranean celebration in the heart of the city with delectable small bites and refined cocktails flowing late into the night.

Amangiri, USA
In the sublime wilderness of the Utah desert, Amangiri works closely with its neighbours to preserve their heritage and traditions, resulting in a festive calendar packed with opportunities to discover local culture through daily activities. Alongside sunrise yoga, sunset hikes and seasonal cocktails, highlights include fascinating storytelling sessions with Eli Secondy, and evenings filled with campfire singalongs and live music from local musicians. Guests can learn more about Navajo culture and the surrounding geology with hoop dancing classes, dreamcatcher weaving sessions and stargazing with astronomist Rich Csenge who leads tours of the sky with an impressive Orion telescope. Amangani, USA

To showcase the magic, the resort has created a balanced programme of dining, wellness and cultural activities this season, suitable for all ages. Combining traditional celebrations with local island flair, the resort has curated a calendar of events ranging from live jazz music at the Beach Club on Christmas Eve to a beach visit from Santa on Christmas morning. A gastronomic journey through South American flavours follows, culminating in the rhythms of fiery flamenco during a Latin night extravaganza on Christmas Day. Piñata decorating, jewellery making classes and face painting entertain little ones daily at Amanera’s Children’s Centre, while on New Year’s Eve, the countdown to 2023 will include an exquisite gala dinner, fireworks at midnight and a DJ transporting guests into the new year in true island style.

Amanyara, Turks & Caicos
As the festive season comes to the island shores of Providenciales, heralding Amanyara’s customary calendar of celebratory events and experiences, the resort welcomes guests seeking an escape to warmer climates. The festive spirit shines at Amanyara over Christmas and New Year with elaborate events planned throughout. Starting with a Christmas Eve Pool Party, followed by Santa’s arrival on the beach on Christmas morning, a Christmas Day Scavenger Hunt and indulgent multi-course dinners with live entertainment creates lasting memories of celebrating together. Throughout December, an enchanting sense of excitement fills the air in Venice and the city’s cobbled streets, charming squares and romantic canals come alive with a magical feeling. In Aman Venice’s palazzo home, festivities begin on 8 December when the magnificent Christmas tree is lit. The traditional theme continues on Christmas Eve with carols around the piano before a delicious dinner and Midnight Mass at Frari or Basilica San Marco. A post-mass hot chocolate and panettone back at the palazzo is the perfect way to end the evening. A cosy Christmas Day will see guests enjoy games and movies in the Tiepolo salon after a gourmet lunch, while Boxing Day commences with a Great Christmas Walk, accompanied by the hotel’s general manger, to visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

On New Year’s Eve, guests will enjoy a jazz-inspired aperitivo, followed by an exquisite dinner in Arva, accompanied by a variety of musical entertainment. As the time nears midnight, choose to be whisked away by boat to watch the fireworks over the Salute – a truly memorable start to 2023.

This season, Aman Venice will support the rehabilitation programme at Padova Prison once again, which is home to a pastry workshop, where inmates make award-winning panettone. Padova-made panettone will be served – and available for guests to buy – at Aman Venice throughout December, with proceeds supporting the prison’s rehabilitation efforts.

Rosa Alpina, Italy
Beneath the majestic peaks of Lavarella and Conturines rests the charming mountain village of San Cassiano. At its heart, Rosa Alpina, an Aman Partner hotel, provides unparalleled access to the Unesco World Heritage ski destination of the Dolomites Superski and Sella Ronda network of pistes – the perfect destination to experience a white Christmas. Reopening on 10 December for the winter, guests will be invited to celebrate the festive season with a range of gourmet experiences throughout the month entitled Starry Nights, showcasing Chef Norbert Niederkofler’s culinary vision. Aman Le Mélézin, France
Just a glide away from Courchevel 1850 in the heart of Les Trois Vallées, the exclusive ski resort of Aman Le Mélézin epitomises the enchantment of a white Christmas – whether relaxing at the extensive spa or enjoying the slopes. Festivities commence on Christmas Eve with face painting for children, followed by Santa’s arrival and gift giving in the Salon, before a traditional dinner that culminates in festive fireside sweet treats and live music. A cocktail reception at the Bar and multi-course tasting menu at Japanese restaurant Nama, complete with live entertainment on New Year’s Eve will welcome 2023 in style, before the Courchevel firework display lights up the sky at the stroke of midnight.

This year, to mark the hotel’s 30th anniversary, Aman Le MĂ©lĂ©zin offers guests the opportunity to participate in several local initiatives designed to help support those less fortunate. Charities include Le Secours Populaire Français, an organization that provides essentials to those in need and focuses on inclusion in all spheres. In addition, guests will be invited to contribute to a ‘pass it on’ scheme where any clothing they don’t wish to return home with is donated to someone in need.

Amanjena, Morocco
Set within an oasis of palm trees and olive groves, Moorish heritage is reflected throughout Amanjena’s pink-hued walls and manicured private gardens. From 24 December to 1 January, the resort offers several seasonal activities including children’s entertainment in the form of storytelling and movie-nights, alongside more sophisticated activities for adults including a Sound Healing session on 25 December and Sunset Meditation on 30 December.

On New Year’s Eve, festivities will begin in the Lobby Lounge with an elegant cocktail reception. Encouraging guests to reflect on the year-gone by, the resort will then release floating wish candles on the bassin to create a literal sea of hopeful, twinkling lights. The lighting ceremony will be followed by a multi-course gala dinner masterfully prepared by the resort’s Executive Chef and accompanied by live music and entertainment before the countdown to midnight is celebrated with a DJ and dancing into the early hours.
This festive season, Amanjena will continue to support Les Enfants De L’Atlas Orphanage and Jarjeer Donkey Refuge, with guests invited to visit both locations to learn about the important work the charities do and support them with donations should they wish.
INDIA & SRI LANKA

Amanbagh, India
Over the festive season, the serene garden estate of Amanbagh sets out to immerse guests in the culture and heritage of Rajasthan and the Aravelli Hills. The resort will glow with light as local musicians perform and Amanbagh’s chefs prepare multi-course Western and Indian gala dinners. Showcasing local crafts and cuisine, guest will learn the unique regional art of Lac bangle making at a pop-up artisan’s workshop in the hotel’s grounds and discover how the natural resin can be heated and shaped to make colourful jewellery. Alternatively, they can opt to turn their hand at the traditional Indian art form of rangoli, whereby intricate patterns are created from coloured rice and sand, representing good fortune.

Further opportunities to experience the traditions that have shaped Indian culture await on Christmas Day, with the chance to try Rajasthan’s own ‘sport of kings’, camel polo. An appearance on the sidelines from Babu the camel, replacing Rudolph, will keep younger ones entertained. Later, on 31 December, guests will be invited to join the Amanbagh team in celebrating the arrival of 2023 with a traditional Indian fair, featuring fortune tellers, fire dancers, traditional Manganiyar singers and an elaborate seven-course feast showcasing a choice of Indian or European cuisine.

Aman-i-KhĂ¡s, India
Offering unrivalled escapism this festive season, the wilderness camp of Aman-i-KhĂ¡s – on the edge of Rajasthan’s Ranthambore National Park – has curated a festive programme that draws on its name, Aman meaning ‘peace’ in Sanskrit, and KhĂ¡s meaning ‘special’ in Hindi and Urdu. Highlights include visits from local resident, Ram Babu and his family, who will travel to the camp daily to teach guests how to handroll beautiful, multi-coloured bangles. Guests will be able to enjoy festive traditions with a Christmas tree decorating session and a spectacular Christmas Eve celebration, where a group of musicians will perform using local instruments while the chef prepares a five-course gastronomic feast. The countdown to 2023 will be a particularly spectacular celebration under Ranthambore’s star-strewn sky, featuring a jungle-inspired feast accompanied by traditional performers and musicians.

Amangalla, Sri Lanka
For a gracious, old-world festive season, Amangalla is the perfect setting, resting within the ramparts of the 17th-century Galle Fort on Sri Lanka’s south coast. On Christmas Eve, the All Saints Church Choir will perform carols in the Great Hall, followed by live piano music as a traditional festive dinner is served by candlelight. A classic turkey lunch with all the trimmings will be on offer on 25 December, a poolside Sri Lankan Curry Night with Kandyan dance performances on 27 December, and an Indian Street Food Feast with traditional tabla music on 29 December. New Year’s Eve will begin poolside with cocktails, canapés and fire dances, after which a four-course chef’s signature menu will be served in the Dining Room. As the clock strikes midnight, champagne will flow to welcome 2023 in sparkling style.

Amanwella, Sri Lanka
Claiming its own crescent beach on a picture-perfect bay, Amanwella is the ideal seaside destination for a festive family holiday. The resort’s Juniors’ programme offers daily activities including painting wooden masks, festive card making, beach badminton, sandcastle competitions, scavenger hunts and more, while adults will be spoilt for choice with a range of gourmet events. Christmas celebrations will begin with canapés, cocktails and live entertainment in The Dining Room and Terrace on 24 December, followed by a traditional five-course Christmas set menu. New Year’s Eve will be celebrated with a full orchestra serenading guests at the restaurant while they dine on a five-course gala dinner. Other culinary highlights will be the beach barbecue dinner on 29 December and the traditional Ceylon Street Food Festival on 2 January 2023.

Amankora, Bhutan
Designed to encompass the healing embrace of the mountains and instill the spirit of renewal that the Himalayas is known for, Amankora will celebrate this with a programme of festive experiences designed to create unforgettable memories with loved ones. From a traditional Christmas lunch made with homegrown produce, to the lighting and offering of butter lamps in a temple nearby, activities combine classic celebrations with local rituals for a culturally enriching end to the year.

Christmas Day is one of feasting and festivities across all five of Amankora’s lodges. Following the morning’s excursions and activities, a special Christmas lunch is served, made with locally sourced ingredients. Later, guests can take part in a Bhutanese ritual with the lighting and offering of butter lamps in a nearby sacred temple, before retreating for time with family and friends over festive refreshments.

On New Year’s Eve, across all of Amankora’s lodges, 2023 will be welcomed with a host of events including traditional Bhutanese dance performances and signature cocktails alongside an exquisite dinner highlighting the produce of each valley. On New Year’s Day, guests can bathe in the enriching light of the first sunrise of the year. Each lodge marks the occasion in a unique way, whether it be a circular pilgrimage at the Buddha Dordenma in Thimphu, donating meals to Gangtey Goemba Monastery, or having breakfast at the Khamsum Chorten in Punakha.

INDONESIA
Amandari, Indonesia
Interwoven with the village of Kedewatan and the verdant drama of the Ayung Valley landscape, Amandari celebrates the natural beauty and rural culture of inland Bali. This season, alongside daily group wellness classes and sunset cocktails, guests are invited to personally engage with village life through several experiences and encounters. These include scenic guided treks through the surrounding countryside, dance performances by the local village children and daily afternoon tea with Ibu Made and Ibu Wayan, two local villagers who bring with them a selection of Balinese sweets and traditional tea and coffee for all to enjoy.

Cookie decorating, kite making and face painting will entertain little ones, while culinary highlights include a Megibung Balinese feast on 29 December; a local chocolate tour, bonfire and s’mores on 30 December. A Balinese New Year’s Eve celebration will bring in 2023 with a special menu featuring Dari Duck Samosas and Pandan Cheesecake with Cinnamon Tuile and Coconut Ice Cream, followed by a celebratory South-East Asian inspired brunch on New Year’s Day.

Amankila, Indonesia
Occupying a breath-taking hilltop spot on Bali’s east coast, Amankila offers the opportunity to make unforgettable memories with loved ones this season. This year, the festive programme is brimming with activities that focus on the culture of Bali and sharing its traditions. From 16 December until 4 January, the resort will host a textile exhibition by local interior designer Melati Danes featuring folk art, fashion and high-quality craft showcasing the history and cultural importance of textiles from across the Indonesian archipelago. Starting 24 through to 30 December, guest can try their hand at Line Drawing with Tenganan artisan, Pak Punduh, who will hold daily classes sharing how to draw on lontar – a dried palm leaf with pengrupak – an ancient technique passed through the generations.

On Christmas Eve, the region’s sacred Legong Keraton Dance is performed by the main pool before an unforgettable Christmas feast is served family-style. The festivities culminate on New Year’s Eve, with a fire show featuring six fire masters who will present a dazzling display of movement and coordination accompanied by musicians on traditional instruments, who lead guests into the light of 2023.

During their stay guests can donate to Soul Bali, a charity that supports and empowers communities in East Bali and an initiative that Amankila has collaborated with since its establishment in 2015.

Amanjiwo, Indonesia
In the lush forest setting of central Java, Amanjiwo presents cultural experiences that offer support to neighbouring communities and play an important role in preserving cultural and artistic traditions. Over the festive period, a variety of dance performances will take place at the resort, including a Jathilan dance performed by the children of the local villages, the legends of the Ramayana interpreted in movement by a troupe from the nearby Muntilan Regency, and the dramatic Javanese mask dance, Topeng.

Christmas Eve celebrations will start in the Rotunda Bar with afternoon tea accompanied by a string quartet playing carols. Thereafter, a four-course dinner is served enlivened by the classical Javanese Children’s dance. Morning yoga and sunset meditation punctuate the festivities on Christmas Day. New Year’s Eve takes guests on a cultural journey, with a full programme of traditional dance performances complementing a delicious five-course East-meets-West set menu prepared by Chef Reza. The countdown to midnight will see everyone toasting Borobudur – glimmering on the horizon like a peaceful talisman for the year ahead.

The resort will also offer the Journey Though Java experience from 24 until 27 December, inviting guests to enjoy a visually stunning adventure across Java on the Kereta Api Wisata train, from the bustling capital of Jakarta to the peaceful setting of Amanjiwo.

Aman Villas at Nusa Dua, Indonesia
Within easy reach of Bali’s Denpasar Airport, Aman Villas at Nusa Dua is an idyllic retreat for groups of friends and family to reconnect in consummate privacy over the festive period. This year, Santa will visit every villa on Christmas morning with children’s gifts, and every celebratory meal – whether Christmas Eve Dinner or a New Year’s Eve banquet – will be entirely bespoke. With a varied choice of cuisines, degustation menus can be personalised to suit every guest, and a diverse range of entertainment – from live acoustic music to Balinese dance performances – arranged upon request. The countdown to 2023 will be held at the Beach Club, overlooking the Indian Ocean, with guests invited to donate to Aman Villa’s community initiatives that help those less fortunate as a gesture of New Year’s goodwill.

SOUTH EAST ASIA
Amanpuri, Thailand
Aman’s original place of peace, Amanpuri has hosted Christmas and New Year festivities for over three decades. Those spending the festive season at the resort this year will be invited to a series of specially crafted events commencing on 22 December with a feet-in-the-sand Beach Barbeque at dusk. The menu features freshly caught seafood, grilled catch of the day, Phuket lobsters, and a host of exquisite salads. Other celebrations include a white christmas-themed Christmas Eve feast, where glistening decor transforms Amanpuri into a winter wonderland accompanied by ballet, acrobatics and jazz quartet performances. On Christmas Day, children will enjoy a fun-filled day of activities at the Eco-Beach Discovery Centre, with Santa making a grand entrance along the beach. A sumptuous convivial Italian-themed brunch will be offered at the Pool Terrace overlooking the Andaman Sea. The delectable array of festive fare will include brunch specialties, an assortment of Italian pastries and refreshing gelatos.

On the days that fall between Christmas and New Year, guests will be spoilt for choice with themed events taking place nightly, including Journey to Japan on 27 December – an evening filled with Japanese cuisine, cocktails and musical performances paying homage to Aman’s three properties in Japan.

Amanpuri’s iconic New Year’s Eve party will pay tribute to the newly opened Aman New York with live jazz and Broadway inspired entertainment. As the countdown approaches, guests can head to the resort’s steps to watch an exquisite fireworks display heralding in the New Year. The after party continues at the Pool Terrace, with DJs and surprise guest appearances to be announced.

Amanpulo, The Philippines
One of the best times of year to visit the Philippines, the festive period offers a uniquely authentic experience of island life with temperate weather providing a welcome escape. This season, daily snorkeling tours depart to Pamalican Island’s House Reef while, for those on land the Filipino tradition of merienda, or afternoon tea, serves a selection of delicious local delicacies as music fills the air. A calendar of sunrise and sunset rituals will invite guests to take part in the Filipino tradition of mass at dawn and nightly stargazing sessions on the beach.

The resort offers a wide range of culinary experiences this season. On Christmas Eve, the team will prepare a feast of flavours with a Noche Buena Festive Market, featuring multiple live action stations that will appeal to all the senses. On Christmas Day, guests can travel to South-East Asia with lunchtime street food at the Picnic Grove followed by an evening Degustation Dinner featuring dishes such as Duck Agnolotti and Confit Mahi Mahi. In the days following the Christmas celebrations the gourmet indulgence will continue with the perfect paring of lobster and champagne and a tasting menu of intensely earthy flavoured truffle.

On 31 December, the resort hosts another bountiful feast with a Gala Dinner from around the world and a plethora of live entertainment acts celebrate the one sun that shines its light on land and sea. Themed in homage to the setting and rising of the sun and the promise it brings to all, the night’s spectacular show will lead to the countdown and a toast to the New Year.

Amanoi, Vietnam
The festive season is a wonderful time to visit Vinh Hy Bay, as the warm hospitality of Amanoi is enhanced by a jovial spirit. This year, the resort offers a detailed programme catering to all ages, with daily children’s activities ranging from cookie decorating and pizza and donut making classes to coconut leaf art sessions, fashion design workshops and archery.

Gastronomic journeys celebrate cuisines around the globe with highlights including a six-course degustation menu on Christmas Eve, a choice of a traditional Christmas lunch or dinner on 25 December, a Japanese dinner with sake pairing on 27 December and a seafood feast on 29 December. On New Year’s Eve, an evening of celebrations begin with a cocktail and canapé reception, followed by a six-course gala dinner served in the Main Restaurant accompanied by a variety of performances, including a local magician, a jazz band, Vietnamese dancers and a DJ to continue the entertainment late into the night.

Amantaka, Cambodia
Embracing the ancient capital’s slower pace, guests are invited to fall under Luang Prabang’s timeless spell this festive season, with dips in Amantaka’s shimmering pool, wellness treatments at the Aman Spa and opportunities to experience cultural heritage with cooking classes on the resort’s organic farm. Private sunset cruises on the majestic Mekong River and excursions to sacred temples follow this gentle theme of discovery.

Festivities at Amantaka begin on 20 December with a resplendent barbeque dinner featuring Lao and Western cuisine served beside the tranquil swimming pool and accompanied by traditional music. The celebrations continue until the end of the year and include special talks at the Buddhist Learning Centre with Tiao Nitth, a descendant of the Vang Naa or viceroy lineage of the former Lao Lan Xang kingdom. As the year draws to a close, Amansara will host a spectacular New Year’s Eve dinner in the grounds of the 10th-century temple of Prasat Kravan, starting with a three-course banquet featuring Khmer delicacies. Accompanied by performances from the Sacred Dancers of Angkor from the renowned Conservatoire of Banteay Srei and Phare, the Cambodian circus, the breathtaking setting is further heightened with 1,000 glittering candles. The evening will culminate in the epic tale of the Ramayana, expressed through Sbaek Thom (shadow puppets), one of the country’s oldest performance art forms. Aman Tokyo, Japan
A gastronomic destination in its own right, Aman Tokyo will house several culinary experiences throughout December – from The Lounge’s creative Christmas afternoon tea, limited-edition Christmas cocktails and family-style festive dinner, to Mushahi’s multi-course omakase experience with sake pairing. On New Year’s Eve, guests can delight in an extravagant gala dinner, followed by a 1920s inspired countdown party in a nod to Aman New York. The following day, offering the perfect antidote to the celebrations guests are invited to enjoy a 90-minute festive themed spa treatment, incorporating both a facial and massage to banish feelings of stagnation in anticipation of the year ahead.
