UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, co-hosted the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition “WE BELONG: Global Faces of Statelessness” with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commemorate the 6th anniversary of UNHCR’s #IBelong campaign to end statelessness within 10 years. Much progress has been made since 2014, and this exhibition documents many important achievements globally, as well as highlights the Royal Thai Government’s important work on reducing statelessness. The photo exhibition is open from today until 29 November 2020 at the Curved Wall 5th Floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) with no admission fee.
The event began with opening speeches led by Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra (3rd from left), Director General, Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Giuseppe De Vincentiis (center), UNHCR Representative in Thailand, followed by a special talk by Ms. Tuenjai Deetes (1st on left) and H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti (3rd from right) Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. David Muehlke (2nd from right) Regional Refugee Coordinator to East Asia, Embassy of the United States of America, Mr. Pitasuang Chanchaichat (2nd from left) Director of Non-Thai Civil Registration and ID Card Division, Ministry of Interior and Ms. Jiraporn Siraworakul (1st on right) Plan and Policy Analyst, Division of Internal Security Affairs also participated in the event at the Curved Wall 5th Floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC).
