Yào Restaurant Marks the Year of the Tiger with Auspicious Culinary Delights

From 31 January – 6 February 2022, Yào Restaurant at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse is celebrating the Chinese New Year with food and drinks to be enjoyed with loved ones, families and friends that include a delectable Chinese set menu and Abalone auspicious menus for bringing prosperity to the year of the Tiger.

During this special and auspicious Chinese New Year, Yào Restaurant delivers best wishes through variety of dishes crafted by experienced Chinese chefs. The luxurious Chinese set menu will surely be a great way to start off the year.  Start with an appetizing bites such as peking duck rolled with foie gras and caviar, followed by a bowl of precious fresh fish maw and baby abalone soup.  Main course starts from steamed sea mud crab with minced pork, steamed black grouper with dried orange peel & black bean sauce, grilled king river prawn with salty egg yolk and black truffle, and poached green asparagus with golden broth topped with dried scallop.  End the course with Chinese dessert exclusively for Chinese New Year, Chinese rice cake with pear, pudding and ice cream.  The set menu is priced at THB 5,888++ per set per person.

In addition, Chef Bruce Hui proudly presents a series of auspicious menus from the sea treasure, Abalone. The Chinese believe that eating Abalone on Chinese New Year will bring good fortune and prosperity for the rest of the year. Abalone is one of the most expensive ingredients in Chinese cuisine and once were the imperial food which has been served mainly to the Emperors and the Royal Families.

Abalone auspicious menus included:

  • Wok Fried Australian Baby Abalone with Shrimps Stuffed Morel and Asparagus in Oyster Sauce
  • Braised Australian Baby Abalone with Chicken and Chinese Chestnut in Soy Sauce
  • Baked Australian Baby Abalone with King Mushroom Tarts
  • Salt-Baked Australian Baby Abalone with Spring Onion 

Yào Restaurant on the 32nd floor entices with classic Chinese elements and modern metropolitan flair that will make your feel like celebrating New Year in the heart of the charming and stylish Shanghai. Lunch during Chinese New Year is served at the restaurant from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm to 10.30pm.
